msk20171
I have BTSync running on 2 Win7 computers on my home network. Until a few days ago, they sync'ed seamlessly. But today, if I go to the devices tab on my work computer, it says that there are no connected devices. If I go to the devices tab on my home computer, it says that it's connected to my work computer (oddly, it's displaying the IP address and not the device name), and under Status, it's showing an up arrow and "3.8 GB". That implies to me that it's trying to upload 3.8GB of data to my work computer, but my work computer's not showing any connected devices or active transfers. If I go to the Transfers tab on my home computer, there are no active transfers, despite what it says in the Status column. I rebooted my home computer and it did the same thing. Any idea what could be going on? I haven't made any changes to my home computer, and I don't recall seeing any notices about my work computer being patched remotely or anything like that. msk20171
Update: I removed the folder from both devices, deleted the .SyncIgnore and .SyncArchive, deleted everything from my Home computer and started over. The Work computer indexed all of the files, Home is showing that it's connected to Work and that it's synced, but Work isn't connected to anything. msk20171
Problem solved. I upgraded the BTSync app on both machines to the latest version (1.3.94) and it started working. I did a full sync and did a few other quick tests to make sure it's good. I guess there's something in the new version that addresses this defect or the process of upgrading forced the app to reconnect. Either way, it's working now. Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.
Harold Feit
1.3.94 isn't actually the latest, 1.3.103 is, but it's still probably a case of version mismatching.
msk20171
Odd; I updated and it got me to .94, not .103.
GreatMarko
Odd; I updated and it got me to .94, not .103. Whilst Sync remains in beta, not every new build is pushed out via auto-update. The latest version via auto-update is presently 1.3.94, however, the latest beta build available is 1.3.105, so in order to update, you'll need to manually download/install 1.3.105 from here.
