mcit
I am receiving an error on a couple of our machines when launching the BTSync application. "Unable to create cache directory \\Server\Share\Username\BitTorrent Sync\Cache" The 2 machines are Windows 7 pro and Windows Server 2008 R2.The software is the latest version from the website. On the windows 7 machine, after pressing OK, the application still loads and the folders then sync.On the server though, it then starts up as a new copy asking for the initial setup process. The machines have roaming profiles and redirected appdata folders. It does not appear to happen if I log on to a profile without a redirected appdata folder. Is there anywhere I can alter the path for the cache directory? I could not find anything in the registry or under the installation folders which references the appdata folder. Helen
@mcit, That issue with Cache folder is known to us and it will be fixed in future releases. As for starting with setup, check the following things to be present :1) Reg key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BitTorrent\Sync] "Revision"=dword:103006a (for 1.3.106)2) settings.dat and settings.dat.old are present in %Appdata%\BitTorrent Sync Does one of the users also log in on WinServer as roaming or local user? mcit
Thanks for the reply. Yes that registry key does exist and both of those files are in place also. The users do log in as roaming users yes. No local accounts are used in the network here.
Helen
@mcit, it looks like the folder where Sync is installed does not roam with user to server. Also you will need to grant full access permissions to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu folder since Sync puts its shortcut there.
