bigv1027
So, if I were to give a friend a one time secret, read only key, does that mean that once they have synced the files in the folder, the connection/sync is done? Or would any changes I make in that folder propagate to their computer? If that's the case, I'd like to suggest a read only / one time sync type secret wherein once the files are synced, the connection is terminated. Thanks! Or would any changes I make in that folder propagate to their computer? No, once your friend has entered the one-time secret, they will continue to have access to that folder until such time as you remove the folder from Sync or change its SecretIf that's the case, I'd like to suggest a read only / one time sync type secret wherein once the files are synced, the connection is terminated. The easiest solution is to just change the folder's Secret once it has been sync'd, thus terminating your friend's connection

Disappointed Cat
This can be a painful process if there are dozens or maybe hundreds of peers. I know this is not the wishlist, I'm just saying. Instead of hard to implement peer management, nested shares could solve this if there would be cross-seeding.

dicoy
I don't understand then what's the "one time" part about. Is it that once the friend used that secret to make the connection, no one else can?
Disappointed Cat
Yes. It will automatically switch to the original secret but the one-time secret will be useless if some's stolen it.
dicoy
so, that means that the person with the one time secret will have to resuable secret revealed to him as soon as he joins the network?
