Usage of folder_defaults.delete_to_trash

Recommended Posts

Good morning

my setting for folder_defaults.delete_to_trash is True (Resilio Sync default).

But deleted items (files or folders) are sent to .sync/Archive rather than to $Recycle.Bin (Windows). It seem working at the opposite of what it say...

Please, what is the correct usage of folder_defaults.delete_to_trash?

Thank you

it means that files will be moved to Archive: Archive will be enabled by default for all folders that you add to Sync, unless you manually disable it.

folder_defaults.delete_to_trash is set to False means that files will not be moved to archive: Archive will be disabled by default for all folders that you add to Sync, unless you manually enable it.

Helen

so, if folder_defaults.delete_to_trash is set to False  then files are moved to $Recycle.Bin ?

And... switching folder_defaults.delete_to_trash on/off is valid for existing folders too? Or just for newly added folders?

no, Sync never deletes files to Recycle Bin. If Archive is disabled in your Sync, and remote peer deletes files, files are just wiped out from your device skipping Archive and skipping recycle bin.

for new ones. You need to manually turn it off/on for existing ones.
