sonus
I have a TB of photos I want to sync with a friend in an encrypted folder. I don't want to be sending that 1 TB over the internet. Can I somehow generate the encrypted contents locally and copy it over to the destination machine via usb drive, so I don't exceed my Comcast bandwidth for the month? Or alternatively, can I get the 2 machines to sync by running them on a local private network?
Helen
No, with encrypted folders you cannot pre-seed, it will not work.
BensTech
Sadly "Sync Support" missed your final idea which will WORK. So, bring your system over to your friend's place or vice versa and run sync and then once it's in sync, you can take it offsite and continue syncing.
