I did so. However, I could only enter part of my own key, or better said, it only accepted part of my own keys.

platform Windows, Btsync version 1.4.93 beta We are using our own keys. I tried to add a new folder on this machine, but cannot use my own key. I also launched btsync as admin. Is that not possible anymore? regards Max

Unfortunately, that does not work with a boxcryptor mount. -

andrewb - Boxcryptor, based on encfs, is used to encrypt local data and is used, among services, with google drive. It is creating a virtual drive. I have no errors at all in my log. It just does not add the drive. GreatMarko. I also will try your suggestion tomorrow, unless andrewb reports today that does not work either. -
"can't open the destination folder"

The mount can be reached and is not corrupt, because I am working on it/have been working on it all day. Could it be something with the config file? The debug says "Loading config file version 1.1.22". I tried to locate it in the bittorrent folder under 'application data', but could not find. It seems to be something with the root. The boxcrypt mount root z:\ cannot be added to btsync. However, I am able to add individual folders. So, I can add z:\folder-1, z:\folder-2, z:\folder-n. -

Thank you for your answer. I read the unofficial FAQ. As I explained above "With btsync 1.1.15 I had no problem adding z:\ to btsync. " So, I added a secret AND a folder. -
I installed btsync 1.1.22 on windows xp. I have a boxcrypt partition containing the data (z:\). With btsync 1.1.15 I had no problem adding z:\ to btsync. With btsync 1.1.22 I keep getting the error "can't open the destination folder". I tried to set it up completely new (renamed the bittorrent folder under 'application data'), but that did not solve it. Switched on debugging: [2013-07-01 17:08:14] test sha1: AE5BD8EFEA5322C4D9986D06680A781392F9A642 [2013-07-01 17:08:14] test sha2: 630DCD2966C4336691125448BBB25B4FF412A49C732DB2C8ABC1B8581BD710DD [2013-07-01 17:08:14] test aes: 0A940BB5416EF045F1C39458C653EA5A07FEEF74E1D5036E900EEE118E949293 [2013-07-01 17:08:14] Loading config file version 1.1.22 [2013-07-01 17:08:22] Got 2 relay ips [2013-07-01 17:08:22] ip 67.215.231.242:3000 [2013-07-01 17:08:22] ip 67.215.229.106:3000 [2013-07-01 17:08:26] Incoming connection from 192.168.1.103:1098 [2013-07-01 17:08:26] Incoming connection from 192.168.1.101:56134 [2013-07-01 17:08:32] NAT-PMP: Unable to map port with NAT-PMP. I run ubuntu raring and btsync desktop version 1.1.15. The network consists of two windows pc (also running 1.1.15) and 1 ubuntu pc, all running over the same wifi router. The two windows pc have no trouble syncing with each other. The ubuntu pc won't sync. I have attached the log file. Please help. This is my config file: //!/usr/lib/btsync-user/btsync-agent --config // // configuration for the btsync agent running in the // user environment { "device_name" : "gialt1", "pid_file" : "/home/gia-admin/.btsync/sync.pid", "storage_path" : "/home/gia-admin/.btsync", "listening_port" : 0, "check_for_updates" : false, "use_upnp" : true, "download_limit" : 0, "upload_limit" : 0, "lan_use_tcp" : true, "disk_low_priority" : false, "lan_encrypt_data" : false, "webui" : { "listen" : "127.0.0.1:8888" } } Something I find strange is that i have set lan_use_tcp true but lsof -i :1025-9999 +c 15 shows: btsync-agent 3663 gia-admin 9u IPv4 9467573 0t0 TCP localhost:8888 (LISTEN) btsync-agent 3663 gia-admin 16u IPv4 9468358 0t0 UDP *:1900 btsync-agent 3663 gia-admin 20u IPv4 10126372 0t0 TCP localhost:8888->localhost:32912 (ESTABLISHED) btsync-agent 3663 gia-admin 24u IPv4 9471760 0t0 UDP *:3838 Thank you for your help sync.txt

Dear Mr. Moll, I am using ubuntu raring, and I am syncing between windows and linux pc's. I have installed btsync using your ppa. I am running btsync-daemon I am having the followwing problem. btsync-daemon is syncing using root permissions. As a result (i believe), it is creating double files and folders (please see attached screenshot). How can I start the daemon as 'normal' user? Should I change CONGIF_DIR in /etc/init.d/btsync to a directory with 'normal' user permissions? Thank you for your help. Regards, Max

Dear Sir/Madam, Btsync is syncing files and folders as root user which causes double files and folders (see attached "PERSONEEL & FINANCIEEL"). How can I run the btsync-daemon as 'normal' user? Thank you for your help. Regards, Max

I am trying to run bittorrent sync as a normal user. It is now running as root syncing all files with root permissions. I tried to rename my conf file to btsync.gia-admin.gia-admin.conf and start btsync with "service btsync start". Howver I amgetting the following error: gia-admin@giadt1:/etc/btsync$ service btsync start * Starting P2P file synchronisation daemon(s)... * Autostarting btsync instance 'gia-admin' start-stop-daemon: unable to open pidfile '/var/run/btsync.gia-admin.pid' for writing (Permission denied) What to do? Thank you, Max
