  1. Dear community, Sync 2.4 (Release Candidate 2) is now available. You can download it via direct link. The build is a second release candidate for 2.4 and is only available for community testing now. Help Center for 2.4 will be updated soon. Upgrade As starting from 2.4 Sync is released with Resilio brand, it is treated by OS as new application and will propose you to migrate all your settings from old BitTorrent Sync (settings are backed up during migration). Start your new Resilio Sync installer (or replace and start new binary in case if Linux installation) and follow upgrade instructions if any. It is recommended to keep old BitTorrent Sync shut down during upgrade. Upgrade from Resilio Sync RC1 is like regular Sync upgrade and does not require any additional actions. Downgrade Resilio Sync will make a backup copy of all your settings prior migration into "sync-v2.3.7-1471003319.backup"-like folder (version and timestamp may vary). If you decide to return to 2.3.*, you'll need to manually copy the content to your storage folder, remove Resilio Sync and be aware of next downgrade drawbacks: You'll downgrade to "Free" version and you'll have to re-apply license manually File association with license files *.btskey is broken so you'll need to apply license in BTSync UI Downgrade is not supported for Selective Sync folders (as all placeholder files are renamed to *.rsl*). If you downgrade and your Sync has Selective Sync folders, your files are going to be deleted on all peers. Changes in 2.4 Features and improvements Sync rebranding to Resilio & migration from BitTorrent Sync Implemented sync schedule (Pro users only) Add ability to add selective sync folder from config Show locked and unavailable files Improve compatibility to OS X 10.12 beta Give a warning when Sync goes out of memory Indicate when Sync can't connect to relay server Store all temp files in .sync folder Prevent Sync from opening off-screen Hide inactive peers for advanced folders Allow Sync to listen all NICs when installed as service Improve debugs upload Minor UI improvements Fixes Upgrade to Pro does not work on OS X sometimes Sync crashes after adding a folder in selective sync Sync replaces new file by older one after first rescan sometimes Offline peers remain in peer list "Cannot get the list of trackers" error appears on start briefly Sync package does not start on Syno DSM6.0 Proxy settings not saved Sync crashes when receiving invalid API request Sync shows IP instead of peer name when connecting over relay Don't add extra folder name to folder path when adding folder over link Sync prevents NAS from sleeping Invalid GUID cookie causes "Invalid request" page Changes since RC1 Added localization Fixed issue with trial license ending unexpectedly Fixed Sync crashing on start sometimes Fixed Global speed limit getting disabled after restart Fixed Sync not allowing to shutdown itself gracefully sometimes Fixed listening port reverting after restart Minor cosmetic fixes Known issues License is not re-applied when restoring settings from backup
  2. @stonerl Okay then. Follow support agent instructions.
  3. @laurin1 Could you please send us logs and journals? Preferably, from all peers involved. As issue is fresh, there are good chances that logs are not yet rotated.
  4. @JulianSatran I've opened a ticket on your behalf and attached your debugs there. Although, you did not attach a single log (sync.log file), so we won't be able to find out why peers do not see each other. Could you please? @stonerl What Sync shows you when you click the "x out of y" peers? It should show you the list of identities & peers connected. I strongly suspect that you reinstalled Sync on one of peers, and now that old instance always hanging in disconnected ones.

  6. @Rweiser Not at the moment. Currently, API only available for desktops.
  7. @norbert78 Yes. There was an issue in NIC configuration: Sync did not manage to bind to network interface.
  8. Hey Tim, Please submit the logs to our helpcenter together with last description. As I remember, you have the ports forwarded in US and direct connection from China to US is possible, isn't it?
  9. @myradon Just sent you test build. Let me know if it helps.
  10. @myradon I believe we've found an issue thanks to one of our community members. PM me know if you are willing to test the possbole fix.
  11. Sync is not intended to deliver folders in 2 locations on a single PC or sync data between same PC's folders, so there is no "out-of-the-box" solution here. Although, there is a trick you can do if you need this solution badly. You may run 2 instances of Sync on your PC. One instance a regular one, backing up data fo drive N:, while another one must be started with a config file which forces second instance to keep service files in some other location and can get its own set of folders, one of which can deliver backup to drive M:.
  12. @KawateTadako All clients in enterprise Sync are centrally managed, so admin can push new rescan time to all clients any moment. Though it is 10 minutes by default.
  13. @NNois Got you. Actually, the web-accessible interface initially was more of a side effect as we have to provide some way to control Sync on Linux. But, it's fine feature request - I suggest to mention it Feature Requests forum so we won't lose it.
  14. @Ronery Nah, it's not identities, sorry. Identities only show up in Peer List for Advanced folders. BTW, the second screenshot shows both "This Machine" as offline. I wonder when you start it up - does both records become online on your another computer? Also, I guess that you don't have any other computers with the same name?
  15. @FTP There was an issue causing folder disconnecting once a linked devices that was offline for 30+days comes online. This was fixed in 2.3.8. Does it sound like your case?
  16. @Trevor Meier What is your moved files size? Also, do you have Archives enabled in the folder where you moved files?
  17. @Ronery This list contains identities rather than peers. So it's likely that you get 2 peers with same identity name and they display like that. @sbhouchen @rensbais We've received your tickets and debugging information. Please continue to cooperage with support agents taking care of your cases. Once done, we'll post found solutions here.
  18. @progmachine Got your logs and opened a ticket in our helpdesk. We'll need to check what happens in your Sync. @rensbais Could you please make a process sample once Sync starts consuming lots of CPU time? Just select the process in your Activity Monitor, click the cog button and choose "sample process". Then send it to me.
  19. @Tim Radbourne No way we can poke it somehow. We can't control the traffic / connections (it doesn't go via our server) and we can't identify anyone. So it's likely something has changed in the network that allowed direct connections. But, we've got your logs and will analyze shortly.
  20. @progmachine, @sbhouchen Could you please send us complete logs from the HDD-grinding-machine? Anything special there, like HDD connected over USB or alike? @patoka Thanks, we've got the logs @rensbais Did you saw the same with 2.3.7 or it happens only after upgrade?
  21. Tim, Leave it disconnected for now and collect your debug logs. Please collect them from both your US and China peers. When sending to us, mention this forum topic. We'll see what happens inside. After you send logs, try to upgrade Sync binary to 2.3.8. There is a nasty issue about connectivity fixed in 2.3.8 (Windows only) - this might be your case.
  22. It should not. It is not aware why remote computer does not provide or download data. It could be a feature for future releases, right.
  23. @patoka Could you please grab logs from this PC and send to me? Hopefully, the event did not yet rotate. Do you remember the time when the issue popped up?
  24. @patoka There is an order in which files are returned to any application by OS. Sync uses that order. It is not random, though.
