  1. If you push the function "Sync local folders ..." a window arise for choosing the folder on the same device. In this window you can choose between to authority §read" and "read/write", so this local folder is connected as choosed. "read/write" mean a normal synching between two or n... folders.

  2. In the main working folder (may similar to /Users/user_name/Library/Application Support/Resilio Sync) of Resilio is a "sync.log", if you have also on Mac, scroll down to the last entrances and maybe you found details about.

How many files and folders you are syncing?

If nothing helps, have a look on Syncthing, is mainly the same as Resilio. Because of different reasons I use both on Synologys, Windows, Android.

The forum is full of such examples. Why are there no updates? In the Syncthing Forum I keep reading each week that users turn away from Resilio. Why is that so easily allowed?

@Alex, it is and remains a mystery, why is it all so? A statement would be important, otherwise you will be alone at some point.

  4. This is an issue for some, including me. And I've already seen some users in the Syncthing forum who have already been here. At the moment I still use both software in parallel, so that I can switch completely at the crucial moment. Syncthing is already very good with the current version 1.4.2, comes very close to Resilio in terms of performance and speed, so that a choice almost becomes a question of taste.

How Resilio squandered his lead in this way is remarkable and I'm sure Syncthing will overtake Resilio sooner or later. It is already the case with the features and flexibility.

  5. As I read it, you use BTsync (because of .bts), the predecessor of Resilio on "MyCloud" and Resilio on the Smartphone.

Although it is highly related software, BTsync uses other temporary files (xxxx.bts) compared to Resilio (yyyy.!sync). The operating files in the file system are also slightly different. Therefore, an IgnoreList with IgnorePattern must be stored for both programs, so that no temporary files are transferred against each other during syncing, or even overwritten or deleted.

In this way Syncthing can also work in Resilio by ignoring Syncthing's temporary working files, and vice versa by Syncthing by ignoring Resilio's temporary working files, the same issue.

  6. Its a problem of Resilio that is not so flexible with restrictive networks. For such cases I use Syncthing in parallel, because the relay servers of Syncthing also work with purely http and https ports, it means port 80 and 443. If you doesnt know Syncthing, its basically the same as Resilio, more flexibel in Features, also in this case, but not so fast.

Since some month for me is Syncthing as good as Resilio, if you search for a serious alternative software
