  1. Again, issues/concerns/comments surrounding the open/closed nature of the source code are already being discussed in other threads here in the forums, as indicated in my previous post. As a reminder, the theme of this thread is "I Was In Support Of Sync 2.0, Right Up Till They Broke A Promise". Because the open/closed status of Sync has not changed for 2.0 - nor was it promised to - it is off-topic to this particular thread and belongs instead in the relevant, dedicated threads covering that particular subject. Thank you for your co-operation.
  2. Did you explicitly provide your License ID and select the "Pro" license type when opening your ticket?
  3. No, licensing is not "per device", it's "per identity" - you can use the same identity on all your devices, so you will only need a single license. Yes, but not whilst Outlook is running (Sync can't sync files whilst they are open/locked/in use by other applications, and Outlook keeps it's .pst files open the entire time the application is running - so Sync will only be able to sync your files after your exit Outlook)
  4. In which case, you are attempting to start TWO instances of Sync. For example, if you run ""C:\Program Files (x86)\BitTorrent Sync\BTSync.exe" /MINIMIZED" once, Sync will start and be minimized. If then whilst Sync is already running, you again run ""C:\Program Files (x86)\BitTorrent Sync\BTSync.exe" /MINIMIZED", Sync's UI will open to draw your attention to the fact that Sync is already running. So, the solution is to ensure that you 're not trying to run Sync twice (i.e. if you have a registry run entry AND a shortcut in your Startup folder, remove one of these)
  5. There never has been an option to start minimized in the "Settings" area. Are you perhaps getting confused with the "Start BitTorrent Sync when Windows starts" option? Have you perhaps got some software/system policies in place which reset and cause registry/desktop item changes to be discarded/reverted each time you login?
  6. Errmmm.. the ability to Start Sync minimized has long since been present, and this is no different with Sync 2.0! - Just run Sync with the /MINIMIZED command line switch! i.e. "C:\Program Files\BitTorrent Sync\BTSync.exe /MINIMIZED"
  7. If you have paid for Sync Pro, you have access to Priority Support - please consider opening a support ticket for a faster response to your issue.
  8. @freigeist - the open/closed source debate is also somewhat off topic to this particular thread. Sync has always been "closed source" this position hasn't changed with the introduction of Sync 2.0, which this thread is about. There are other more appropriate & relevant topics [like this one] for that particular discussion to continue in.
  9. Folks - the ability to sort your folder list in ascending/descending order by various columns has now become available with Sync 2.0!
  10. @MAK-CS, Good News! - This appears to have been fixed as of 2.0.85 - if you're running an earlier 2.0.x build, please download the latest build from the main download site (as 2.0.85 isn't currently available via auto-update)
  11. Thanks for reporting - the link has now been fixed
  12. Actually, the ability to share "links" was available in 1.4 too!
  13. You can obtain the most recent 1.4.65 Android .apk here
  14. Have you tried right-clcking some on the row entry for that folder in the UI? There should be a "Share" option in the menu there If not, what browser are you using to access Sync? Are you running any extensions in it like AdBlock, etc?
  15. To be fair, it's a bit of a no-win argument either way! - plenty of users over the past two years have complained at various times about the perpetual ongoing "beta" tag attached to Sync 1.4,1.3,1.2... etc with calls for "when it this ever going to leave beta!?" ...now it's left "beta", the narrative appears to be "why has it left beta?!" .. ...but going back to your question of "is it ready to leave beta?". The bottom line is that every software title out there - beta or otherwise - has the potential for bugs, but users are arguably more accepting of bugs in "beta" or free software than they are in commercial software they are paying for. So regardless of whether you feel Sync is ready to become a paid product or not, the fact that it now is, potentially means that any bugs that you do come across will be addressed quicker than they would otherwise be - which has got to be a good thing, right!?
  16. @MIke2700, I've merged your post into this thread - please see my above response
  17. You can't - you just have to ignore it if you don't wish to use it.
  18. @narold, the general feeling I get from the devs is "maybe we'll add Vista/2k3 support later". As you may or may not be aware, when Sync 1.4 initially launched, that too didn't run on XP/Vista/2k3, but support was subsequently re-added back in. I'm hopeful (although I haven't received any firm guarantees) that support for at least Vista and 2k3 will return to Sync 2.0 at some stage (XP is considered obsolete by Microsoft themselves, so BitTorrent could be forgiven for no longer supporting that particular OS, however in the case of Vista/2k3 these operating systems continue to be supported by Microsoft, and so it would make sense for Sync 2.0 to be able to run on these platforms just as earlier versions of Sync already do)
  19. It's the destination/receiving end - in your example, Machine B - that you'll need to set to "Disconnected" before adding your folder to A
  20. Right-click a folder in Sync's UI and select "Share" - you'll then have options to email/copy/generate a QR code for a sharing link
  21. @proactiveservices - as RomanZ's has previously indicated, BitTorrent's Legal Dept are currently looking at the wording of the EULA to make it clearer to users.
