  1. If it's the linux version, they are aware of the issue. They say there will be an update to resolve it tomorrow.
  2. Yes, just uncheck the option under Preferences.
  3. UPDATE! I can add an empty folder to a share on the above systems and btsync will not crash. But, as soon as I add files to the folder or another system with the same key tries to sync to it, it crashes. Now, I am finding the same issue on more powerful systems. A QNAP device and a Linux server both crash if I have a large number of files shared. None of these happened prior to upgrading.
  4. The new update GreatMarko linked to was just added yesterday. So, you likely downloaded version 1.0.134 and not 1.1.12.
  5. I have two NAS devices that worked fine with 1.0.134. When I upgraded to 1.1.12, they would crash if there were any shared folders. So, I deleted the .sync folder to start over. The webgui would come up fine, but as soon as I add any folder to share btsync would crash or stop running. The devices both have an ARM processor. One is a Zyxel NSA-221 and the other is an LG NAS.
  6. Unfortunately, this must be done on your friends side in order not to sync to other systems.
  7. Yes, but BitTorrent itself is basically a network protocol. So, to me, this means an app called BitTorrent Sync would sync across the network, not locally. As you said there are other tools to sync locally. You could ask for this in the wishlist, but it still seems to go against the whole idea of a network syncing program.
  8. This is not completely true. If you want the file untouched at each location, then yes you will need to change the .SyncIgnore file at each location. But, if the file is only on one machine and you don't want it on others, you only need to add it to that machines .SyncIgnore file. For instance, I have a QNAP NAS device that adds hidden files and/or folders on some shares. I added these to the .SyncIgnore file on my NAS device to keep it from syncing them. On the ones that already synced, it removed them.
  9. Yes, you will need to use the conf file to set it. Instructions are in the guide.
  10. If you don't want to watch the whole thing, start at 1:30:46
  11. Yes, uncheck "Show notifications for completed downloads".
  12. You are correct. I replied before reading completely due to my excitement of getting an Android version. :-)
  13. Do you really think name calling will get you what you want?
  14. I would also like to request access for a Galaxy Nexus and Asus Transformer Prime. Both are Android 4.
  15. I have the same problem, but I don't think it's a bug with BitTorrent Sync. This happens for me with any program or server I have on my internal network. Once i connect to work, all hostname (dns) inquiries go to my work dns servers which don't have my stuff listed. I was able to get around most of the connection problems by using a router which adds a domain suffix to my hosts, ie family.lan. For instance, when I am not connected to my work VPN, I can access my NAS device by going to http://nas01. But, If I am connected to my work VPN I can't. I can get to it by going to http://nas01.family.lan however.
  16. Ok, I tried in a Win7 VM and using the /S switch installed it. It did popup with a firewall prompt and then the setup wizard started. I will see what happens when upgrading on the next release.
  17. Are there any plans to add silent switches to the install executable? I use a management appliance and would love to be able to upgrade all of my installs from one place.
  18. I have several Windows machines installed with 1.0.134. If I add a shared folder using a read-only secret. Once I hit ok, it will take hours to index 4.6 GB in 3761 files. If i remove the share and add it with the full secret, it will take about 20 minutes to index. This seems to be true with any of the shares. I have tried removing, uninstalling and removing the appdata folder and re-installing. Sometimes, it will work fine if I don't add any other shares. But, if I try to add any 2nd or 3rd shares, it becomes excessively unresponsive.
  19. I don't know. Maybe they need to add each OS separately.
  20. The new version was reported here in the forums fist. Look under the pinned section.
  21. One way to test this is to disable the firewall on both computers (all profiles). If BitTorrent Sync starts syncing, you know it's the firewall.
  22. A firewall doesn't block computer A from seeing Computer B. It blocks certain ports and/or programs. Even though your computers can see each other, they could still be blocking BitTorrent Sync if it's not setup in the firewall.
  23. Hi Lightning, Thanks for the response. You do not need the same .SyncIgnore file on each computer. By design, anything that you put in that file does not sync to other computers. So, in this case, I only need it in the .SyncIgnore file of the NAS device. I was able to get it working by re-saving the file. For some reason, this was working, but stopped. And saving the file again fixed it for now.
  24. I didn't mean to mispell the file name in the title. Sorry. I forgot to mention that I am editing the .SyncIgnore file on the NAS device.
  25. I have a QNAP NAS device that adds a folder called .@__thumb. I have added .@__thumb to the .SyncIgnore file, but it is still being synced. Any ideas?
