@vigilian Same as for pretty much any application. If you open some ports, you trust the application. Sync passed 3rd party security review in the past, and no vulnerabilities has been found.
-
@Reco-X From your output I see that process is running and it listens to loopback interface for incoming connections. Could you please elaborate what do you mean under "but it doesnt work properly"? Do you attempt to connect to webUI from a different computer?
-
@Madas It's a known issue. Could you please open a support ticket for it for me?
-
@vigilian Both ways have their own cons and pros. It depend on what are you trying to achieve.
-
@milleri It's coming soon. Not released yet.
-
@Madas Are you connecting to internet over proxy server?
-
Lucas,
This is how our package works. Once you install package, it registers an rslsync user and runs Sync under this user account. If you want to run Sync under different user account, this can be done in 2 ways:
1. Upgrade your Ubuntu to 16.xx. It already has systemd and systemd allows to run services under current user account (which could be root).
2. Don't use a package. Just place a binary to whatever location you like, put config file to any location you like and launch./rslsync --config <path_to_config>

@jocko Only this document is available at the moment.
-
@rwz @ellw @LegacyCode Could you please open a ticket for me in our Help Desk? Please mention me and this forum topic in message body. I'll do my best to help you.
-
@bielen2k Well, it depends on your hardware. I would say that security standing behind advanced folders is 1.5 times (very rough estimation) more consumable towards CPU resources.
-
I confirm the fact that "files_default_path" cannot be configured via config file now. Editing settings.dat is bad option - it is bencoded and protected in our internal format and we assume no one else changes it. We'll make it configurable in one of future builds.
-
@scrivener You'll need to SSH to your NAS to implement Robert's suggestion.
-
@gl00mer Coming soon!
@bielen2k If the issue is still reproduces - yes, I need logs. For the crash dump - did you verify your core pattern to see where the dump could land?
-
@bielen2k Next update will contain the fix. You'll need just to upgrade, no way you can remove it now.
-
@bielen2k How did you manage to enable the "Owner" field for files sharing? Also, what's the exact build you get?
-
@bielen2k Can you please supply me with core dump for you Zyxel device and logs for the issue with green checkmark and upload?
@Dr Tone Why not? This is pretty much the same as manual update, though a bit more convenient. It's not an automatic update proposed for all the users. As for the connectivity issue, I'll be happy to see logs from your both peers.

Dear community,
Resilio Sync 2.5.2 is now available. It may be obtained it via direct links below, or via official download page. This version has not yet been published via auto-update, though available via "Check now" button.
UPGRADING FROM BITTORRENT SYNC
Sync is now released under the Resilio brand, it is treated by OS as new application and will propose you to migrate all your settings from old BitTorrent Sync app (settings are backed up during migration).
Please carefully read these articles about updating to Resilio Sync and migration of settings.
DOWNGRADE
Resilio Sync will make a backup copy of all your settings prior migration into "sync-v2.3.7-1471003319.backup"-like folder (version and timestamp may vary). If you decide to return to 2.3.*, you'll need to manually copy the content to your storage folder, remove Resilio Sync and be aware of next downgrade drawbacks:- You'll downgrade to "Free" version and you'll have to re-apply license manually. File association with license files *.btskey is broken so you'll need to apply license in BTSync UI
- Linking new devices to downgraded Sync is not possible. You'll need to recreate identity if you want to link some new device.
- Downgrade is not supported for Selective Sync folders (as all placeholder files are renamed to *.rsl*). If you downgrade and your Sync has Selective Sync folders, your files are going to be deleted on all peers.
Direct Download Links:- Installer for Windows: x86 installer x64 installer
- Package for OS X: OS X package
- Gzip archive for Linux: arm armhf i386 x64 glibc23_i386 glibc23_x64
- Gzip archive for FreeBSD: i386 x64
- Android 2.5.2.
A list of what's new, improved, changed, and fixed in this version is available in the change log.

@bielen2k it looks to get ARM cpu. Which build did you install?
-
@extratype There is a peculiarity in Windows OS - the root directory of a disk must be monitored for changes in a different way than all other folders. We'll fix it in one of future releases, thank you for reporting.
-
@Joerg633 Are you using standard or advanced folder?
