Resilio Sync 2.5.8 is now available. It may be obtained using direct links below, or from official download page. This version is also available via "Check now" button in Sync settings.
UPGRADING FROM BITTORRENT SYNC (v2.3.x)
Sync is now released under the Resilio brand, it is treated by OS as new application and will propose you to migrate all your settings from old BitTorrent Sync app (settings are backed up during migration).
Please carefully read these articles about updating to Resilio Sync and migration of settings.
DOWNGRADE
Resilio Sync will make a backup copy of all your settings prior migration into "sync-v2.3.7-1471003319.backup"-like folder (version and timestamp may vary). If you decide to return to 2.3.*, you'll need to manually copy the content to your storage folder, remove Resilio Sync and be aware of next downgrade drawbacks:- You'll downgrade to "Free" version and you'll have to re-apply license manually. File association with license files *.btskey is broken so you'll need to apply license in BTSync UI
- Linking new devices to downgraded Sync is not possible. You'll need to recreate identity if you want to link some new device.
- Downgrade is not supported for Selective Sync folders (as all placeholder files are renamed to *.rsl*). If you downgrade and your Sync has Selective Sync folders, your files are going to be deleted on all peers.

@DevKnight The storage key is a part of read-only key. Though note, that we plan to implement a decryption tool in close future.

@Tianji We are looking for solution. DHT is not a magic bullet, as some people has to be a bootstrap nodes which can be targeted easily. I suggest reading this discussion revealing how DHT works and how it can be shut down.
We are looking for more or less permanent solution. The only viable solution for now is to use predefined hosts.

@hanru Unfortunately, vast majority of users do not understand DHT background and panic once they see Sync connecting to different unknown addresses even if they enable DHT themselves. As a result, we decided to stop using DHT technology in Sync.

@isaacrdz Unlikely. WebUI port needs to be configured prior running the binary. Also, we got free port for Synology and do not plan to change it anymore. We had to change in the past due to company split.

@surkie7 Just get standard Sync build for Synology. Upon the first start, it'll ask you if you are going to use it for Business and will become Sync for Business if you pick it.
@inn508 Crash dump won't generate, as it's not a crash, but a legitimate program exit. Which build were you using? ARM or ARMHF?

@lasitus It's normal that Explorer restarts after crash. Although, Sync is using legitimate file access API to work with files, so the fact that Explorer crashes indicates some issue either in Explorer itself, or in one of Explorer extensions. This is the very first report about such a crash among Win 10 users, so I strongly suspect that it happens due to some explorer extension.

@Reco-X Yes. You need to grab your old storage folder and move it to a new location which belongs to service. Also ensure that user running service has full permissions to moved files. Though note, that it'll only work if both storages are located on a single logical drive.

@inn508 Googiling around gives a hint that you may get hard floating point disabled. Also, which binary do you try to run? ARM or ARMHF?

@maccra @chuck4100 This is a common issue of Explorer, not of the application itself. In Windows, there are 2 sets of files API. One works with only paths up to 255 symbols, while another (newer) API supports up to 32K paths. Here is a resource providing a number of ways to clean up long filenames. Pick one that is easier for you.

@vigilian Well, it depends on what are you going to protect to. It won't help you to protect the data managed by application you place in the container. But, it will protect your host from compromised application, if any.

@Speednet Sync has never been tested with Petaspace. Although, it uses standard POSIX to access files, therefore no issues should happen with Petaspace. I'm curious:
1) how do you determine that initial index never ends? Could it happen that you simply observe next index?
2) what is your Syno hardware and what's the amount of files and their total size? -
@ellw I've reviewed the article you refer. Many of absent features are actually can be enabled manually. And there is a reason why are they disabled by default: many internal things (like .ds_store file or finderinfo xattr) are poorly documented and therefore cannot officially be synced. Though, one can enable syncing for these files or xattrs at his own risk.
