Yes, this is not a good way to access secret yet. We do have plans to make it accesible, so you could distribute/change it in a convenient way.

There is some sort of tracker that helps connecting peers that can't be connected directly. Consider it as a super node in Skype. Usually it is required when you are at work and behind a good firewall. We had an issue, that due to an error, these peers can't connect and send traffic.

Release will be delayed, but more features will come to it.

Do you have WiFi and lan network connected at the same time? if yes, try to turn WiFi network for a while, so SyncApp should establish direct connection over LAN.

On windows SyncApp will crash.

@pols1337 issue was that he was on very slow WiFi, when he switched - speed becomes ok.

There is a difference between BitTorrent and SyncApp. BitTorrent uses a lot of connections, and usually fully occupy the channel, completely preempt other network traffic. SyncApp behaves more politely to your network, so your other software could operate correctly. If BitTorrent could get only 280 Kb/s out of your network, you have a slow network. And if it is shared between several users, SyncApp will not get close to this speed. We plan to add sonfiguration to SyncApp, so you could increase amount of connections manually, so it might help you.

What type of files you are sending? Can you put a big file and check the speed?

We found and fixed issues that SyncApp doesn't connect to peers. This is related to specific NAT, usually corporate NAT. They were not bypassed correctly. Should be working now.

We had some issues on backend, so specific types of NAT can't be bypassed. This is fixed and should work now

Just to keep you informed on SyncApp progress. Currently we are working on: - Fixing Windows 8 UI issues - Improving synchronization speed for LAN - Working on handling more than 100k files - Adding support for 0 size files and files that starts with '.' - Bug fixes, bug fixes, bug fixes .... We plan to release next version in three weeks.

The problem with such approach, using .torrent, is that there should be a special software installed that could use p2p. So we think that we will have pure HTTP solution. It will be not p2p, but will work much easier.

Seems that we should add such option, it could make sense, especially if data is not changed often.

This is not handled by SyncApp for now, I mean your HD will be filled and this is it. We plan to add something later.

There might be one case, when SyncApp could interfere with Windows Explorer. When SyncApp indexing folder, it uses HW very actively, this could affect Windows explorer in a way, that it could be slowly that usual.

We will need logs from you Mac 1.6.x I'll PM with contact email to send logs. I'll update this post with the result.
