  1. funkenstrahlen, you can move btsync binary file with .sync folder in it. But please note, that shared folders added at the Sync should be located in the same place on your server. Otherwise you will need to disconnect folder and add it again. And also your peers (Ubuntu server and new server) will still have the same identity. So if you want to have different identity you just need to install Sync from scratch, create new identity and add folders.
  2. myradon, probably peers don't see each other or something else could be related. Could you reproduce it and collect logs from your peers? You can do that according to this instruction.
  3. stsander, we received your message, let's continue to discuss this case in our support system.
  4. thr3ad, that will be fixed in future releases. Now as workaround you can edit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BitTorrent Sync\Revision and set it to 2010002 if you already have updated Sync from this link or 2010001 if your Sync version is 2.1.1.
  5. wolfy, Could you reproduce it and collect logs from all your peers? You can do that according to this instruction:
  6. frailots, do you have correct time and time zone on your peers? Did you try the latest 2.1.2 build? If you have 2.1.2 version and still encounter this issue, please reproduce it and collect logs from two peers according to this instruction,
  7. jrox10, you can read this article to improve transfer speed and if it doesn't help you, please send us logs from all your peers and speed profile.
  8. IMD, that happens, because Sync scans folders periodically. Thank you for suggestion about differnt options for each folder, we'll think about it adding it in future releases. Now if you want to prevent external hdd from waking up for some time you can open Sync Settings => Advanced => More options and change "folder_rescan_interval" parameter (in seconds). If you set it to 18000 then your folders will be scanned by Sync only every 5 hours but also Sync will continue receiving notifications from OS if something changes. Please note that if something changes and OS don't tell Sync about it, Sync will only detect changes when next 5 hours-cycle ends.
  9. thr3ad, please download Sync again from our site and try to launch it. If it doesn't help you, please tell about it.
  10. rubbo, you need to: 1. Download Sync from this link. 2. Unpack archive somewhere. 3. Use chmod +x /path_to_file/btsync 4. Launch Sync binary file: ./btsync Also there is an article about Linux on the Sync Help Center.
  11. 4195c50c-11b8, it is possible to change the identity via GUI. Here is an article with screenshots about it, unlink section to unlink a device.
  12. levisan, thank you for sending us logs. Let's continue our conversation in the support system.
  13. slchorne, disconnect option is not available for free license. You can only remove folder from the Sync. Also could you tell how did you try to attach the screenshot? Did you try to use full answer form and use png,jpg or gif extensions?
  14. 4195c50c-11b8, do you mean that your PC just doesn't connect to the shared folder? If yes there can be a connectivity problem or something else (for example Windows Vista is not supported and 2.0 folders there don't work). You can send us logs for analysis using this instruction or just create 1.4 folder on the Mac. To do that hold "shift" while clicking on the "Add folder" button. Then share that folder with your PC.
  15. gleep52, with read only option Sync can revert all changed files on Read Only peer to files from Read-Write peer. To make it happen you can open folder preferences and activate "Overwrite any changed files" option. However if you have some additional files, which you don't have on read-write peer, Sync won't be able to change them, i.e. they won't be deleted.
  16. Mourdsoe, have you used that folder before? Or maybe you download some files and delete them? If yes, then probably database files might take so much space.
  17. Hello maffigueiredo, developers have found necessary information in your dump so it will be fixed in future releases. Now as workaround you need to disconnect that folder from all peers, delete .sync folder inside shared folder on both peers then add it again and share with your peers with correct permission.
  18. NormKC, there can be various reasons why it affects you. You can try to close the Sync, delete settings.dat and settings.dat.old files from the ~/Library/Application\ Support/BitTorrent\ Sync folder then try launching Sync again. If it doesn't help you, you can try to send us logs from your peer according to this instruction and send us sample process with logs. To send sample process please follow these steps: 1. Open Activity Monitor, find Bittorrent Sync among processes and pick it. 2. Click on the gear button and choose "Sample process". Samples will be recorded to an automatically opened document. 3. Save this document and send to us.
  19. levisan, there can be various reasons why you encounter such behaviour. For example time difference, permissions or something else. Could you reproduce the issue and collect logs from all your peers? You can do that according to this instruction.
  20. gleep52, if peer is read only, It cannot send changed files to another peers. But you know that you can change first letter from "B" to "A" and become read-write peer. If you don't mean that users affect server but mean that they should have the same files and then you can open folder preferences on all users and activate "Overwrite any changed files" option. However they will be able to create new folders and files but Sync will force to return only changed files to version from server.
  21. Mourdsoe, do you use 1.4 or 2.0 version on your iPhone? Do you have another folders in the Sync or only camera roll backup?
  22. williamjackson, if you have free license (on any peer) then "my devices" won't work. But if you have trial license on both computers then it should work. You can try to reproduce connecting and disconnecting folder and send us logs for analysis according to this instruction.
  23. Uhohjr, there can be various reasons why Sync doesn't transfer files. If time difference is more than 10 minutes then Sync won't transfer files. In that case you need to correct time and time zone on your peers. You can read this article and check if it helps you, because maybe something else is related. If not you can collect logs from both peers according to this instruction and send us for analysis.
  24. Munger, usually when add a folder in the Sync it always indexes the folder. And if there are some files, Sync won't transfer them again unless they are different from another peer. So it is not related with peer permissions. If you want, you can try to reproduce it with another folder. Although Sync will show you that it is going to transfer files, they won't be transferred if another peer already has them.
  25. CraftyClown,if your peers are united with the same identity they should have the same folders. So if you don't see all folders - it is not expectable behaviour. But it could be related with connection or something else. Could you collect logs from all your peers and screenshots? You can do that according to this instruction. Please don't forget to mention, that you have posted a topic on the forum if you send logs from the Sync directly.
