  1. carldickson, Sync should transfer changes even to small files. I couldn't reproduce it in our Lab, all changes transferred to another peer. Maybe you have something special in your setup. Or maybe you edit your files in some program and it locks the file so Sync won't transfer it. You can contact us via this form, mention this topic and send logs. I've sent you an invitation to upload logs.
  2. spi, you can try downloading another arm version: armhf Also there is a deb-package for Raspberry Pi.
  3. cyberto, thank you for clarification. Then we need logs from you and you can also collect sample process. To do that open task manager, right-click on the BitTorrent Sync process and select "Create dump file". After it will be completed you will see where the file is located.
  4. BobAchgill, if other peers are online and they see each other they will be able to synchronize with each other. For example if you have 3 peers and your goes offline, remain two peers will continue synchronization between each other.
  5. BTSu, you need to have correct not only time but also time zone on both peers. If everything is correct you can contact us via this form and send logs from both peers.
  6. cyberto, please contact us via this form and we'll send you the link to upload logs. However before you collect logs, could you clarify what OS do you have and if it is Linux, do you have symlinks in your folders?
  7. nat101, if you tap on your files and Sync downloads them then looks like synchronization doesn't stuck. You can disable "Selective Sync" option then Sync will download all files from another peers.
  8. According to the logs, it was related with many files in the folder. After Sync launched it reads information about files from the database. Because there are many files, it takes some time to read the database. So it's not related to internet connection, it is necessary to just wait until Sync reads all information from the database.
  9. bacizone, usually users don't tell us such information, but I remember that battery drained during 5-8 hours in one case. Android devices are unique so results will be different even for the same phones and maybe for you it will be 5-8% or 50%. So it's better to test it and share results then other users will appreciate your experience.
  10. bacizone, thank you for clarification. Then it is not related to rescan interval on the PC at all. So you can restore default 600 value. Sync works in the background on android devices, but to avoid battery drain there is an auto-sleep option. If there is nothing to transfer Sync hibernate itself and wake up every 30 minutes by default to check for changes. You can change default value in the settings, but please note that it might drain your battery.
  11. krombacher, PPC and PPC QUORIQ architecture is not supported. 1.4.111 is the latest version, where it was supported. You can find official answer in this topic.
  12. bacizone, do you mean that you need to launch Sync or just open it from the background? If Sync is not running it won't upload/download files.
  13. cnkeller, yes "--generate-secret" option is available for linux only. thank you for reporting about that we'll improve our KB article. I suspect that something is wrong with configuration file. You can contact us via this form and send your config file (replacing secret and IP addresses with *** if you want). Then we'll check it and tell you how to fix it.
  14. P.D., usually WebUI is used on linux, although it is available on Windows. %appdata%\BitTorrent Sync folder is the storage folder for Windows version while .sync folder used on Linux version. Thank you for reporting about it, we'll improve that article to be more clear. You can try clearing cookies and cache for localhost and 127.0.0.1 addresses in your browser and try opening WebUI page again. Also have you closed Sync before deleting settings.dat and settings.dat.old files?
  15. Emslrv, probably you have many files in your folder and activated Selective Sync option while adding the folder. How many files do you have in your folder and how much RAM is installed on your PC? If RAM is not enough Sync will crash. You can collect logs from that peer and contact us via this form to send logs and dumps.
  16. The problem was related to old Sync version. Previously if computer had free license and was united with some mobile device synchronization stopped for the folders, which were added automatically because of "My devices" feature. So it was necessary to create new identity or share folders from PC or mobile device again. Now synchronization always should work if all peers have recent Sync version. So if anyone encounters it please check your Sync version and if it doesn't help you contact us sending feedback with logs from devices.
  17. DAEMON_UID and DAEMON_GID commands are used in tuxpoldo's package, which parses config file and apply umask command. Sync doesn't do anything with them. So it is necessary to use umask manually. Here is an example: umask 0000path/btsync —config path/config_name
  18. wshyang, If you did everything correctly and Sync is running you can check your android device to see if peer is online or not. If peer is online and doesn't transfer files, you can contact us via this form, mention this topic and send logs for analysis. If peer is not online then devices cannot discover each other.
  19. filemoon, we've received your ticket in our support system. Let's discuss it there.
  20. larsen161, what Sync version do you have on both peers? Please contact us via this form, mention this topic and send us logs from both peers.
  21. uoziod, unfortunately we couldn't reproduce it. Sync works with "ё" and with other umlauts(ñüæã) without problems, although if you have very old Sync version (2.0.82 for example) you might encounter such bugs. But if you have at the recent version, there should be something else. Please contact us via this form, mention this topic and collect logs according to this instruction..
  22. davidicus, we've received your message with logs. Let's continue our discussion in our support system. Folders with read-only permissions always were called "read only" and it means if you delete, modify or add files on the peer with such a folder, Sync won't transfer changes to other peers. If you activate "Overwrite any changed files" option then all deleted files will be downloaded from other peers and any changed files will be replaced by files from other peers.
  23. davidicus, there can be various reasons why synchronization stuck. We need more details about your case. Please send us logs from each peer. To do that open "Contact support" from menu, mention this topic and agree to send logs.
  24. Rick21146, there can be various reasons why synchronization stuck. You can collect logs according to this instruction and send us using this form.
  25. tookaway, Prior 2.1.3 version Sync notified users about it, but many users have complained about it so we removed it. But we'll try to make an option so you'll be able to configure which notification you would like to see.
