  1. multra, could you reproduce it, send us all logs from CentOS7 and mention at which time it Sync stopped detecting changes and which files were added/updated? I created a ticket for you in the support system where you can find the link to upload logs.
  2. Tim Radbourne, you can see how much Sync wants to send or receive in the peer list. There you will see a number of files and their size. Another way is to check "Size" column. The progress status shows amount of data transferred within current transfer session. When connection is interrupted, lost or Sync was restarted Sync resets the progress because in the current transfer section nothing has been transferred.
  3. VARN, current Sync version has the functionality you need. But you probably added "Camera backup" or "Custom backup" instead of adding the folder. So you can open the backup in the Sync and choose "Disconnect" option. After that try to add the folder by scanning QR code from desktop again.
  4. jlaidlaw86, when devices are not located in the same network Sync uses tracker server to discover another device. This article explains why peers might not be able to discover each other. If that doesn't help please send us logs according to this instruction and mention this topic.
  5. carloxp, also you can enable "Path" column and sort folders by path. To activate the column right-click on any column ("Name", "Peers online", etc.)
  6. sparkyblaster, when you scan a QR code it links mobile device to the peer which show the QR code. If you have standard folders only you can link your phone to PC then PC will receive standard folders. Sync uses certificates for advanced folders so certificates won't be valid if you change identity. That's why you need to add advanced folders again. I said that you don't need to activate trial license if you want to paste M-key into "Manual Connection". That way works correctly for desktop. If you want to link desktop device to mobile device you can copy M-key from the mobile device. To do that choose "Show key" from the context menu, copy the key and transfer it to desktop. After that paste M-key in the Manual connection dialog. When you create the same device name /user name without linking to other devices you won't get the same identity. I added your request to our wish list. If you activate trial license and don't use 30 days to link to other devices you need to activate the license to get pro features. And once again if you paste M-key in the Manual connection dialog you will be able to link to other device even if trial license expired.
  7. Tim Radbourne, do you have 2.3.7 version on both peers? I remember that 2.0.128 contains a bug with *.bts files. But the current version shouldn't have it. You can send us logs from both peers and we'll see what could be wrong.
  8. sparkyblaster, there is such an option. You can create identity, install the license/activate trial license, then open My devices => this device => Unlink. After that you will be suggested to create new identity or link to existing device. You can resent us the email in the support system as your license should be personal and link should work. Then we'll be able to check it. Unfortunately there is no way to "Delete device". You need to unlink device from other devices. To do that first you need to make sure that Sync is able to discover other devices. After that open My devices => This device => Unlink. After that device will disappear from all devices. When you click on the "X" button in the My devices you don't delete the device, you only hide it on the current peer. So you need to clear all offline devices when you link another device.
  9. sparkyblaster, many users who have installed Sync first time find it too confusing to choose what they want: "create new identity" or "link to another device". They didn't know what to choose next and deleted Sync before trying it. Now Sync doesn't ask that question it asks to create identity name. Most of users don't need "My devices" feature so we hid it and if someone needs it, he or she can install the license or activate trial license and proceed next. Please note that you don't need to activate PRO license to link to existing peer with the license and identity. You only need to do that on the first peer to which you link other devices. Mobile devices can always scan QR code and link to another device while on desktop you can always input M-key to link to another device. The license file should be in the email. We have the option to send you the license email without the file by your request. But we send email with the key after purchase.

  12. fatso83, probably some files were modified on the Mac by another application. So Sync tries to upload those files to other peers. But it cannot do that becase have only RO permissions. You can right-click on the folder, choose "Preferences" and activate "Overwrite any changed files" option. Then Sync will redownload all modified files from the Windows Phone.
  13. sparkyblaster, unfortunately we still don't have response from you too. Maybe you used another e-mail and the e-mail from the forum doesn't work. It it appeared in the SPAM folder. I doubt that you reached device limit. Unfortunately without logs we cannot suggest why it happened and why now it works. My devices feature was hidden so new users won't be confused what to do next. That's why after initial installation you need to create identity first then activate the trial and only after that you can link other peers. Although you don't need to activate the license if you paste M-key for linking to another identity in the Manual connection. Probably you found old e-mail regarding license. The receipt email was changed several times that's why it doesn't work. You can always ask the support team to resend you the license or download it manually via license management console.
  14. Zepp, did you restart Sync after applying settings to rescan folders every 2 hours (7200)? If yes do you see 7200 or there is 600? You can also try to reproduce it and send us logs.

  16. sparkyblaster, Unfortunately I cannot find your request. So I created a ticket and send you the link to upload logs. Let's continue our discussion in the support system. Regarding your question - you can do that but it is not recommended because when you add a folder and connect each peer Sync will calculate hash of each file and compare it with another peer and it might take a while.
  17. sparkyblaster, did you use your forum email or some other email? Your last ticket with that email was last year. And this topic is not mentioned in any ticket. Could you tell your ticket number?
  18. mikehawkes, what peer permissions do you have on each peer? If you have read-only permissions you won't bee able to delete placeholder files. If you have read-write permissions then placeholders will be removed on all peers when you delete them on one peer or if you right-click on them and choose "Remove from all devices".
  19. mikehawkes, it happens when Selective Sync is activated so you will be able to download files from other devices. If your peer has read-write permissions then you can delete placeholders (bts files) and real files will be deleted from other peers. If your peer has read-only permissions you cannot remove placeholders and it is by design.
  20. VARN, you can disconnect camera backup folder on the phone and then try to add the folder again.
  21. AnnHashaway, unfortunately there is no way to specify .syncuser folder. I think it happens because Sync couldn't save settings about identity when you closed Sync. Do you use SIGKILL or SIGTERM signal? It's better to use SIGTERM signal so Sync can save settings before shutting down. SIGTERM signal used by default if you use this command: killall process_name But you can do that manually: ps aux |grep btsync to get btsync PID and use this command to shutdown Sync correctly: kill -15 PID Check if Sync ask you about identity name after you close it correctly.
  22. TaranQ, do you have the latest version on all devices and Pro license on the computer? "My devices" is the Pro feature so if you don't have the license on the computer and camera backup folder is not already listed and the computer it won't be connected. However, if you share the folder via key or link with computer and add the folder it should be synchronized.
  23. sparkyblaster, you can send us logs from both devices. And we'll see if something is wrong with time or time zone or something else. But don't forget to mention this topic.
  24. sparkyblaster, did you check timezone on each peer? If you have the same time but different time zones you will see that time difference is more than 10 minutes. Sync connects to our tracker server to discover other peers. You will see "Cannot connect to the tracker" at the bottom of the Sync. But linking devices with time difference error related only to your devices. You can send us logs if you want. We'll analyze it and show you if there is time difference or not. You can submit them using this form.
  25. vxeel, there can be various reasons why you have slow transfer speed. First you can check this article explaining how to improve transfer speed. Second you can open task manager or system monitor on both peers and check if you have 99-100% disk read speed. If you see it then Sync won't be able to transfer faster because of hardware limitations. If that doesn't help you we need to know how many files you transfer, is your home computer connected to the internet via wifi or wired network and you can send us logs for analysis (mention time when speed was low and this topic).
