  1. Dear community, Sync 1.4.111 is now available on auto-update or via direct link. Change log - Possible Out-Of-Sync issue fix* - Minor core fixes * The "Out-of-Sync" can only be fully fixed in 2.0 thanks to core changes introduced in 2.0. If 1.4.111 does not resolve your out-of-sync, upgrade to 2.0 is advised. Important Notes on Sync 1.4 Downgrade to 1.3 is not possible after installing Sync 1.4. (If you wish to downgrade - please uninstall Sync removing all settings, then install 1.3 and configure all folders from scratch) Important Notes for Sync 1.3 Users Windows XP and Server 2003 clients using Sync 1.3.x will not receive auto-updates to 1.4, but can still update to 1.4 manually. Known issues - UI is tiny on high resolution displays [Workaround] - Sync may continually re-index SMB shares [Discussion] - Checkboxes once selected may move out of alignment on OSX Yosemite [Discussion] - Certain models of Android mobile devices cause deleted files to return with 0-size - Sometimes Sync gets stuck with out-of-sync state [Discussion]
  2. @tinman2 From technical POV the way license operates now is not a bug or issue: Knowledge Base clearly states how license is working. It is bound to the user identity, not to computer. Although I understand your concerns and working with legal department to make it more clear.
  3. @tinman2 The license you purchase is bound to the user identity, not to a computer or device. So, every Sync that connects to the identity with a license becomes licensed copy of software. You can confirm the fact that copy is licensed in "Cog button -> License".
  4. @Patric 1 license is for 1 identity. If you are using single identity for these 4 computers and mobile devices - 1 license is enough. If you want to use more identities - you need more licenses. For the security - moving to certificates improves security as you won't operate more with bare keys and they won't be stolen. Also, certs allow you to revoke access from users if you need to do it. Note, that 2.0 is capable on working with classic folders as well: when clicking "Add folder" button hold shift to add it in 1.4 way with key instead of certificate.
  5. Dear community, We are happy to announce Sync 2.0 official release. Please see Sync 2.0 website for download links and free vs pro comparison table. I would like to thank everyone for your warm support and contribution to the product!
  6. @adinunzio10 Thanks for your feedback. We'll address the issue when we collect enough info. If we need more information - i'll drop requests to this topic or directly to you.
  7. Hey David, I'll be happy to get take a look in your logs. As you've got so many files - please increase log size to around 500Mb so we'll get better chance to capture issue in logs. I'll send you a link to e-mail where you can upload logs securely.
  8. @boruguru Do I understand correctly that you've shared folder from 1.4 installation? If yes - which precise version? For the debugs - you can make couple of process dumps (use TaskManager for it) when Sync is not responding.
  9. @phneutral I wonder if you've got any Android phones in your mesh? In any case, I'd like to see your debugging logs - I'll need them from all peers involved. I'll drop you a link where you can upload logs. Thanks!
  10. @drego85 Thanks for the logs, I'll get back to you after analysis.
  11. @JasonB Okay, so it is not a multiple tiny files issue. If you are transferring to your PC, please follow this instruction to collect speed profiling information. If you are transferring to your Android device - it might be a bit more complex and I suggest checking the issues is not in Android storage slow speed (i.e. try to deliver file with other means over network and save it to same location - does it have higher speed?)
  12. @b0rman You can enable WebUI in config as well. For the mtime - not, it won't work. When Sync is starting up, it is going to check all files it is aware of (=in DB) for changes. mtime or size change triggers content check. If the content has changed - Sync does not know exact time when file has changed and takes current time as change time. Briefly - if you do so AND some files has changed indeed, your Sync will send them to other peers.
  13. @b0rman If I understand correctly, you need to setup a share from scratch on a ramdrive when your computer boots up - and get all the files there. This can be done with config file - you can pre-define folder with folder key in config mode - and Sync will get data there. As every time it will be setup on your ramdrive as a brand new share, Sync will not delete files, but will get them from other peers.
  14. @rockhill04 Sure. Got any logs? Preferably, in debugging level, preferably from 2 peers that do not sync. I'll send you uploading link to your mailbox. Thanks!
  15. @adinunzio10 I've sent you experimental build, let me know your testing results. @JasonB First of all - could you please share info on what amount of files do you sync and what is the average file size?
  16. @SlashZero, @frank@btsync, @persianmoon All fixes proved to be working and will be included in official build - so no need to install side branches. Please stay tuned for updates.
  17. Yep, its possible. If you've got a Linux machine, try command "./btsync --dump-sample-config" - sample config file is pretty much self-explainable.
  18. @b0rman Sync has its own files DB - and that wouldn't be enough. But, IIUC you need to get files to ramdrive every time you reboot PC. You can start sync with the config file with pre-configured key and folder, pointing to your ramdrive. Does it works for you?
  19. @drego85 Got you, thanks. I'll need logs from at least 2 peers that don't want to sync. Could you please collect the logs? I'll send you a link to server where you can upload logs.
  20. @DBordello, @hades2100 I've sent you experimental build (check your e-mail boxes). Let me know if it helps.
  21. @secs Nah, the order is not alphabetic. Actually, the order is determined by OS itself. We just ask OS to enumerate all files, and it decides about the order.
  22. @kramttocs For now there is a workaround possible. When backup arrives to your PC - just go to the folder and rename it. If Sync is up and running - it will automatically pick up the new name.
  23. @phneutral The main disadvantage I'm aware of is when you add new folders to some device - you have to do some extra actions to add it to others explicitly, while My Devices does that for you.
  24. @drego85 Thanks for the screenshots. On the last one I see that there are a plenty of peers with different upload status. Does the synchronization not happens between only one you loggen in via webui and some other, or between all of them?
