  1. Have you port forwarded for the NAS? What discovery options do you have enabled? Do you have "use relay servers" enabled?
  2. Have you tried to synchronize the systems to an internet time server yet?
  3. Does the content change frequently or not? In the game update case, just do what Blizzard does and use a torrent client integrated into the patcher application rather than sync. For anything that doesn't change frequently, regular torrents will perform better more consistently than Sync will.
  4. Smaller files tend to transfer slower. If the files you're transferring lean towards the smaller end, they will be slower. Additionally, transfers using Sync are nonlinear, so you may be hitting random seek transfer limits.
  5. Do other types of transfers work fine between these two machines? What size files are involved?
  6. Make sure the time zones are set properly on all machines and then synchronize them ALL to the same time server. All timestamp comparisons are normalized to one timezone.
  7. Ominous or not, please do NOT attempt to associate ANY bittorrent inc product with your own uservoice accounts. We have ones in place that we DO use. We WILL use OURS for sync when it is appropriate. Again, please take yours down.
  8. We have our own uservoice account and system in place. If we want to use it for sync wishlist, we will. Please take yours down.
  9. Did you include the listen port in your predefined hosts?
  10. To sync like that, you'd need a hub or router to get both machines connected at once.
  11. In order for local peer discover to work, multicast must not be blocked between computers that are going to sync.
  12. The listen port of the remote machine for the actual sync data (NOT the webui port)
  13. Does multicast get forwarded? Have you tried adding a predefined host for the connection?
  14. the port is listed in the preferences of the various clients.
  15. Except you don't actually need it as long as you have local multicast unblocked or have the local addresses defined in your predefined hosts list.
