  1. @EMC-TECH Some of the customers reported us and wanted the same functionality but for now we do not plan to share files/folders without using our app installed.
  2. @RazorBladet In your case perhaps some files were stucked or RAM leak issue lead to such app behaviour. Contact support team and attach logs.
  3. @Geoff Sync transfers files in pieces, in accordance with how BitTorrent protocol works.The best way to speed up the transfer is to enlarge amount of involved peers. Also, a peer does not wait till it has the whole file to start distributing it - once a peer has the file piece, it'll pass it over to others. But a peer cannot prefer a faster or slower host, its non-defined and is random - whoever requested the piece, will receive it . Also to speed up the thrasferring to need to forward necessary ports as listening port of the app. Can you please try the following:stop Sync, go to storage*, find file debug.txt, open it in a text editor, put 2 instead of 0 (in second line). Start Sync.This trick (putting 2) will disable Sync's UDP traffic, which seems to be slow. See if you get any speed improvement.

  5. @tiptronic No good idea to insert here a good piece of log but anyway you have a access denied error and error '-13' prove it.

  8. @nule56 You couldn't give RW access from the RO share. In your case folder re-adding will work but to avpid additional resyncing please pay attention on this article.
  9. @stan2 I adviced you contact support team as we can generate different reasons. Have you checked a storage folder of the app on your device? Even after unsuccesfull installation they could be recorded etc. Sync 1.4 and 2.x compatible but only standard folders ( 1.4) can be used for the files syncing.

  11. @stan2 These are common reasons. In my labs on VM works everything fine. Send logs to support team if they were recorded.
  12. @rimanek In short, for example, when you open a doc, xls, or another office file, the software creates its temp copy into which it writes the changes. When editing is done and file is closed, the tmp copy is deleted and file is updated. Sync syncs all the files in the folder, and when a tmp file is created it gets synced too.I can assume that you see it reappearing cause the file might be still opened on another peer, and its tmp copy is still being used, so cannot be deleted. So please make sure that files are not in use in the remote peer. Also please try to restart Sync and check if the issue still persists. If yes, better contact support team for the further issue investigation. Do not forget to mention that it relates to the forum topic. Thank you.
  13. @tamathumper Perhaps Sync databse is too big but without 'root' on your device you will be not able to remove .db files from the storage folder of the app. I advice you contact support team and clarify the issue. Please include more details such as amunt of files/ folders and what is the memeory value Sync eats on yoiur device. As a workaround you can remove folders and add it back and check what will happpen.
  14. @stan2 Sync 2.x requires IE 9 and higher is recommended. If you don't have IE 9 installed, Sync 2.x will be using your default browser for WebGUI. Note: on Windows Sync 2.x cannot be used under a Guest account due to a number of limitations imposed by the system when a user is logged in as a Guest: Sync can't perform cryptographic operations, can't generate keys or certificates and has limited access to the file system. Also make sure that any apps such as firewalls or antivirus programms do not restrict new build installation. Of course if they are activated in your OS.
  15. @Timbo ipv6 have to be disabled in your network setting and on the route. As for Sync you can use 'bind_interface' option in the Power user preferences of the app to allow Sync connect to specific network interface.
  16. @rimanek We can suggest adding such files to IgnoreList but let us see a screenshot first to make sure that we do speak about same thing. Also what are these files and their typres? Do you use AutoCad, QuickBook or MS Office?
  17. One case when percentage can look confusing is when connection is dropped by some reason and transferring restarted. But it is case when new files were not added.

  19. Was the second folder link sent to the remote peers or you simply added it in Sync? I advice you contact a support team to trobleshhot the issue as we should know more details about your setup.

When you choose "Open In..." to open a file in another app, the file is actually copied to other app. As a result, that app works on a copy of the file and all changes you make are not reflected in the file which is stored in Sync. To sync changes to other peers you'll need to send back the modified file to Sync. Click here to see an example.
  21. Since 2.4.5 app version Sync runs under rslsync user on Synology NASes and admin user is no longer mandatory.
  22. @tiptronic Please note that 2.3.8 it is an outdated app version and I recommend you to update all peers to the most recent 2.5.12 and after it check the results. Please note that since 2.4.0 app version Sync was rebranded from BitTorrent to Resilio Sync app. Please do learn details in this article before the app updating. As for the latest version for Synology please use this link.
  23. Your router should support multicats traffic which is used for peers to discovers each other in LAN. Make sure your LAN settings on router allow multicasts packets on port 3838, 1900, 5053. Here is you can find more details-> #5 especially. As for the router settings I can't give you any relevant info as they have different interface per model.
