  1. @Zeppo VA @poLoNes What's the error? Does it say it can't start package or something else? What about manual starting of Sync - does it work? If no - what is the error displayed? To start Sync manually on Synology, login via SSH under admin account and execute command line: /usr/local/bittorrentsync/bin/btsync --config /usr/local/bittorrentsync/var/sync.conf
  2. @vladwil Did you download packages from our official getsync.com site? Also, do you have the versions that did not work for you? I'd be happy to get them or at least their MD5.
  3. @mintwurm Could you please try to start it manually? I.e. login under admin via SSH and run command: /usr/local/bittorrentsync/bin/btsync --config /usr/local/bittorrentsync/var/sync.conf Share what output says.
  4. @mogarick It's rather slow process when 2 companies talk. Unfortunately, I can't share any positive news. Sorry.
  5. @zbigb69 First of all - check your archive, older versions of your files should be there. Could you please provide more info about files corruption? Ideally, I'd like to get corrupt file, non-corrupt file and debug logs from all your peers. Also, which version of Sync clients do you use?
  6. Hi Greg, Sync cannot deal with .torrent files. So currently it is not possible to use single client to both sync and download torrents. Also, sharing with Sync has quite a limitation: every share has limit of 100 peers to simultaneously transfer files. While this is enough for personal use and small companies, that definitely wouldn't be enough to massively distribute data.
  7. @vladwil Same questions as in my previous post : What was your previous Sync version? What is your mac model? x86/x64 HW? Send me your Console output after you attempt to run Sync Calc and send me your downloaded DMG MD5
  8. @doublelucky I strongly suspect that when you disabled admin account it still worked fine from POSIX point of view, therefore startup with DSM did not work while SSH startup worked fine. Sync designed to run under native admin account on Syno, so it should stay active got get it working.
  9. @M-Pixel It's no problem for Sync to run multiple instances. Just ensure it is listening to different WebUI ports.
  10. @mintwurm Please try this package if you got DSM 5.2 or this one if you got DSM 6.0. Let me know if it works for you.
  11. It is safer - you don't have to store password in plain text. It is not reversible, although if you have weak password bruteforce is always possible There is mkpasswd command line tool for linux and its clones for Windows and OS X accordingly. There are variety of online mkpasswd clones, though can't recommend due to obvious reasons
  12. @TonyM It is not possible. Sync can't deliver files directly to camera roll in bulk. Only manually, one by one.
  13. @doublelucky Its bad idea to run Sync under root. It is designed to run under admin and running as root can change sync's file permissions to root, so later it won't be access it. I'm a bit confused with the last couple of things - so did you manage to run sync as admin? is your admin account active?
  14. @nachi Weird issue. PowerPC is not supported since 10.6, we don't even compile'em. I can only suspect that your hardware is based on x86 architecture, and starting from 2.3 we do not include x86 binaries in OS X packages. Couple of questions to find out what happens on your mac: What was your previous Sync version? What is your mac model? Send me your Console output after you attempt to run Sync Calc and send me your downloaded DMG MD5
  15. @Bob_Collins Officially Synology still warns about compatibility issues and we are working to get it solved. In practice, you can follow this instruction to upgrade your DSM. We've got reports for armada*, evensport and monaco successful updates. No info about cedarview so far.
  16. @AlexT We have. You can take it here. As for the "Non-compatible" message - well, every vendor has their own software review cycles. This is not something that depends on BitTorrent.
  17. @Terence That's correct. For now you need "Embedded" version to get access to API and it licensed per-device.
  18. @Spankar Beginning of May is the earliest possible date, though it may slip. Technically, you can SSH to your NAS and replace binary manually if it is necessary.
  19. @mintwurm No ETA for now, though we plan to make package for Armada385 for Syno.
  20. @Andy+ For the DS712+: could you please SSH to the NAS and start Sync manually - it will (likely) show some error which prevents it from starting. Manual start command /usr/local/bittorrentsync/bin/btsync --config /usr/local/bittorrentsync/var/sync.conf
  21. @Terence This is the way Sync works in Selective Sync mode. You can choose to sync subfolder, but new arriving files will require you to either ask to sync folder again or do the same per-file. There is no way to automate it out-of-the-box, although it is possible to do so with Sync API.
  22. @patoka Renaming .conflict files and folders will cause according renaming of files/folders on other peers - which will help you to identify them and remove ones that you really don't need.
  23. @The Dave It depends. If we are talking about regular sync folder - yes, deleting it from synced folder on iOS will cause deletion on all other devices. If we are talking about Camera Roll backup - then no, pic won't be deleted if you remove it from your camera roll.
  24. @smilo Not supported at the moment. We are researching ways to support EX2 Ultra, so cannot claim if/when it is going to be supported.
  25. @The Dave photo backup implies that it backs up photos in case you accidentally remove them, too. Therefore the fact image keeps living in backup after you remove it from iOS is by design. Sorry - no "Sync" feature for camera roll for now. Removing photo is only possible with iOS means, so you have to switch to your camera roll to delete photo.
