  1. It wouldn't do any harm to request in in the Feature Requests forum. Perhaps in this thread.
  2. You purchase a Pro license per "identity", NOT "per device", and there are no limits on the number of devices you can have under a single "identity"
  3. Basically - yes! You sadly can't change ownership/permissions of folders shared via "My Devices". Removing your devices for "My Devices" and sharing links the old fashioned way is presently the only solution
  4. Modify the shortcut which starts Sync when you login (which you'll either find in your Start Menu -> Programs -> Startup, or in the Registry (HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Run)) to include the /WEBUI switch
  5. @koloman, please see Helen's response above - This is a known issue and the team are working on a fix.
  6. As @ttf has indicated, links from the direct links, indicated in the first post, contain version numbers in their file names. Links from the main download site, indicated in the first post, do not contain version numbers in their file names. This is intentional, as some users prefer a standard/not changing link through which they can always obtain whatever version is the latest, whilst others, such as yourself, clearly prefer to have version numbers included in their file names. Both are therefore catered for.
  7. "LOGIN" is only available if running Sync in WebUI mode, instead of "windowed" mode (which is the default on Win 7 if you have IE9 or later installed). You'll need to start BTSync.exe with a /WEBUI command switch - you'll then be able to access Sync in your browser (i.e. http://127.0.0.1:8888), and you'll have the "LOGIN" tag available on the Preferences window.
  8. You'll find a hidden .sync folder in each folder you add to Sync. For example, if you were to add "C:\test" to Sync, its hidden .sync folder will be located at C:\test\.sync
  9. Please check the hidden .sync/Archive folder on all the devices you were syncing with - chances are, your "lost" files are there.
  10. 1) Check that Debug logging is disabled in Sync 2) Check that the values of the advanced settings "config_refresh_interval", "config_save_interval", and "folder_rescan_interval" (all measured in seconds) are set greater than the idle time your system is set to sleep after
  11. Agreed - that is a little confusing, and I'll flag that up to the relevant people. It's the ability to "toggle" "Sync All" that's a Pro feature. For the Free edition, "Sync All" is always on, and so all your files will sync. Pro gives you the ability to switch the Sync All feature off, allowing you to selectively sync.
  12. This has already been noted - see this post.
  13. @all - for clarification, please refer to the Subscription EULA: It's not "one license per device", it's not "one license per user", it's "one license covering all the devices you link under a single identity"
  14. It's 10 root folders. There are no limits imposed on the number of sub-folders within each of those 10 root folders The price is per individual "identity". If you own a dozen devices and wish to install Sync on all of them under the same "identity", you will need a single license. So licensing is not "per device" or "per workstation" or "per person" - it's per "Sync identity". Also, it's worth mentioning that there is no "login to a BitTorrent server".
  15. Go to "My Devices" Select your current device Change the New Folders setting to "Disconnected" Future folders you add on other devices won't then sync to your current device until you manually "Connect" them to a folder location you specify
  16. The blog post does not relate to pre 2.0 versions of Sync. There are no limits on the number of folders you can add to Sync 1.4, 1.3, 1.2... etc No, earlier versions of Sync will work just the same today as they did yesterday Hold Shift when clicking the "Add Folder" icon. This will allow you to add a classic 1.4-style folder to 2.0. You can also add a key (formally called a "secret") via the "Manual Connection" option of the Preferences menu in 2.0
  17. Go to "My Devices" Select your current device Change the New Folders setting to "Disconnected" Future folders you add on other devices won't then sync to your current device until you manually "Connect" them to a folder location you specify In relation to your second question, no, there is no option to switch off icon overlays
  18. So, just to clarify/summarize what @wweich is saying; files are "archived" on your own devices only - they are not backed-up to, nor stored, in any BT server/infrastructure/cloud.
  19. @disconnect, the Sync Help Center has been updated for Sync 2.0 since my previous post. You'll find the new location for the article I referred to here.
  20. In which case, best advice would be to avoid symlinks all together! If a disk is getting full, consider removing a folder from Sync, physically moving its contents to another disk, and then re-adding the folder in its new location back to Sync. If you're running out of space due to deleted/archived files within you .sync/archive folders, you could consider reducing the number of days that files persist in these archive folders (via the advanced sync_trash_ttl setting), or prevent files from being moved (deleted) to these folders, by unticking each folders "Store deleted files in folder archive"
  21. Go to "My Devices" Select your current device Change the New Folders setting to "Disconnected" Future folders you add on other devices won't then sync to your current device until you manually "Connect" them to a folder location you specify
  22. You perhaps didn't read this blog post, by Erik Pounds, VP of Sync back in November, which stated: "We’re improving the free edition over what’s available in version 1.4" (emphasis added!) I therefore stand by my subsequent comment made after this public blog post (in fact, in the dedicated forum thread where it was being discussed!) that "To the best of my understanding no current functionality will be "removed" from the Free version of Sync 2.0.", as that was indeed my understanding at the time back in November - it was not a "promise" (it was, as stated, "to the best of my understanding"), nor was it "setting expectations" that hadn't already been set by Erik's original blog post!
  23. Please see the documentation Please see the documentation
  24. If your browser doesn't recognize btsync:// links, you can instead paste them directly into Sync itself (via the Manual Connection option in the Preferences menu)
  25. A sync_trash_ttl setting of "0" does indeed mean "keep forever". For your folders to never retain previous/deleted versions, you untick the per-folder "Store deleted files in folder archive" setting instead.
