One Way Sync That Never Deletes Files On Target Machine
GreatMarko replied to wbelk7777's topic in Sync General Discussion
Advanced settings, such as sync_trash_ttl, are sadly not currently available through the Web UI on Windows - you'll need to either run Sync with a config file and specify sync_trash_ttl in that, or if you have IE>9 installed, run Sync in "window" mode (instead of Web UI mode), and you'll be able to modify the setting via Preferences (cog icon) -> Advanced -> More Options -
Apologies, I meant 1.4, not 1.3. The new Web UI isn't available on Windows on 1.3, it is however available on all Windows platforms in the more recent builds of 1.4

Constantly Low Traffic, Draining Laptop Battery
GreatMarko replied to jochen's topic in Sync Troubleshooting
Try turning off the per-folder "Search LAN" setting (and use pre-defined hosts if necessary) Also, there are a few advanced settings you can check/tweak which may reduce battery consumption on your laptop: Set "disk_low_priority" to "true"Set "lan_encrypt_data" to "false"Set "profiler_enabled" to "false"Increase the value of "folder_rescan_interval" from the default of 600 (seconds) - try 1200 -
Yes, there will be both a "free" and a "pro" version of Sync 2.0. Also, Sync 1.3, 1.2, 1.1, 1.0, etc won't just suddenly stop working once 2.0 is released - you'll still be able to use them! Not sure I understand your question?! But firstly, pricing for the "pro" version is not "per peer" it's "per individual". In relation to "web access" - you can already access Sync's Web UI in the current 1.4 versions. The feature list/comparison of 2.0 "free" and 2.0 "pro" will be released in due course. There has been no mention/indication anywhere that the "free" version of Sync 2.0 will be "ad supported"!

Nothing. Changes made on read-only nodes don't propagate back to read-write nodes (i.e. changes are ignored)

Provided the contents of the locations you're syncing between are identical before you add them to Sync, Sync will simply initially re-index them, but nothing will transfer.

[Solved] Ie 10 Not Allowing To Open Installer
GreatMarko replied to Jane113's topic in Sync Troubleshooting
Sounds like your download was incomplete/corrupt - try clearing your browser's cache (temporary internet files) and downloading again, or try downloading through a different browser. -
This is a VERY old - and now outdated - thread!! Sync does now have a Web UI on Windows 7 with IE11 installed - just run BTSync.exe with the "/webui" switch, and Sync will pop open in your default browser
-
Oh yes it does! On Windows systems with IE<9 the Web UI is enabled by default. On Windows systems with IE>9, you just need to run BTSync with the /webui switch

Yes, you'll need to check the .sync\Archive folders on your other devices. For example, if you're syncing between Device A and Device B, and you remove a file from Device A, it will be removed from Device A, but the corresponding file on Device B will not be removed - it'll instead be moved to Device B's .sync\Archive folder. So you may find your "missing" file in the archive folders on the other devices you were syncing with

Have you checked to see if its in the folder's hidden .sync\Archive folder (and checked this on all the devices you're syncing this folder with)?

Can't Wrap My Head Around This Scenario
GreatMarko replied to davidjoshualightman's topic in Sync General Discussion
Copy the folder's key from Laptop A Remove (disconnect) the folder from Sync on Laptop A Disconnect the removable drive from Laptop A Connect the removable drive to Computer C Install Sync on Computer C Add the folder on your removable drive (not connected to C) to Sync on Computer C using the original key you copied in step 1Sync will re-index the folder, but nothing should need to re-sync all over again -
The "More Options" link isn't currently available when accessing Sync through your web browser. On Windows, you'll either need to run Sync in its "windowed" mode (only available if you have >IE9 installed) instead of through your browser, or use a config file to specify advanced settings instead

Check your config file as settings in there will override settings in your Web UI -
Lightroom Users Do Not Use This For Your Catalog
GreatMarko replied to xjcrawler01's topic in Sync General Discussion
This is a very confusing/contradictory post! If it's "user error", then it's not an issue with Sync, and the "solution" surely would be to just not repeat whatever "user error" it was that caused your problem in the first place. If you believe there to be a problem with Sync, please can you clarify/elaborate? -
Android Cm Keeps Crashing After 40 Seconds
GreatMarko replied to ricklahaye's topic in Sync Troubleshooting
I'd suggest opening a support ticket and attaching your dump to that, rather than posting a dump in the forums. -
Assuming you've already copied all the folders across that you were syncing, then: 1) Install Sync on your new laptop 2) With Sync not running on either laptop, copy the %appdata%/Roaming/BitTorrent Sync folder across from your old laptop to the same location on your new laptop (replacing the folder with the same name that already exists at that location) 3) Start Sync on your new laptop

BitTorrent Sync for iOS Bug reports and feature requests
GreatMarko replied to raygan's topic in Sync General Discussion
Are you aware that there is already an API available for Sync? (it's not available on mobile devices yet, but is available on other platforms)
