  1. There is a checkbox in the preferences for that share where you can set the override
  2. Do you have any symlinks in there?
  3. This seems to be because the webgui shows only local file system and hard drives attached. You can try to add the full path manually into webgui and see if it works
  4. On the FreeNAS, can you check if you have the Share as Selective Share or as a normal one? The new folder you have added is not a symlink to somewhere else right? Can you try to rename the folder you have your new pictures in? maybe just add a "-" at the end or something.. and see if that change propagates to your FreeNAS. Another troubleshooting step would be to remove the share from BitTorrent Sync from both machines, add it again and see if it works again. FYI: You won't have to resync all files. It will index them first and that might take a while since your share has a lot of files and is not small but it won't have to resync it. But be 100% sure about the pathname when you add the share again to your Sync clients on both machine. Especially on your FreeNAS. Double and triple check it - there is this "feature" that it will append the filename twice when you add the share back to Sync. You'll see what I mean.. If not it probably makes sense to contact the Support Team. Send Debug logs from both peers and mention this forum topic.
  5. 1.) If you want BitTorrent Sync to use that configuration file you always have to point BitTorrent Sync to that configuration file. If you don't do it it will use it's default values and start "normally" 2.) With the configuration file you can override default values and you can set specific things you won't be able to set in GUI - for example to run on Windows without GUI and only WebGUI listening on listening port. You can get most information on http://help.getsync.com/ if you want to learn how you set up a configuration file. Also you can search the forum since this is a very frequent topic. 3.) For that I haven't tested it. The Help Center does not have articles related to that yet.. maybe one of the team members can fill us in ;-)
  6. May I ask why you are still running 1.3.109? You can/should update to at least 1.4 if you are not comfortable with the 2.0 release. But if you just have forgotten about it: We just had a release of the version 2.3 which you can get at https://getsync.com for your clients. If you are curious on what that all bring and if you can still have your shares using the secrets/keys - you can get all that information on http://help.getsync.com Since 1.3 is so old - I can just not comment on why it was doing that back then.. there is a big possibility that this has changed after a good portion of releases ;-)
  7. If I run the command lsof |grep -i bittorrent -c I get 309 as output.
  8. If you want to run BitTorrent Sync on the Raspberry Pi you can take a look at this thread [Raspberry Pi] Automated Installation/update And Management Script. It uses the configuration files from the official .deb package but gives you the comfort of doing a couple more nice things.
  9. Can you check how many files these 39 folder contain? It would be good to have a total of files that you are syncing using BitTorrent Sync.
  10. If you want to know for sure, open an issue asking the person who hosts the repo /e Also if you look closely, well it's kind of obvious, the account for the docker image is bittorrent - like the github profile. Soo my guess is, yes. If it is up to date and there are frequently commits to the repo you should be fine
  11. I see what you mean and where you're going with this. I just can't see it implemented in the forecoming future. It's seems to be very complex since you just can't a feature for 1 Device and have the rest lack that. But as always: the developers and the team behind sync is frequenting the forums checking for new things they could implement
  12. Well since you are sharing a folder you can just put a readme file in there saying what the recipient has to do..
  13. There is a repo by BitTorrent Inc. https://github.com/bittorrent/sync-docker You can check it out and see if you can work with that You can get the official docker image here https://hub.docker.com/r/bittorrent/sync/
  14. Such functionality already exists. If a user does not have BitTorrent Sync installed the link you have send that person will ask them if they want to install BitTorrent Sync.
  15. How is that a feature request to the software BitTorrent Sync? Can you elaborate on that please? /e Well I see that you are asking that BitTorrent Sync should notify the user that they are running through a relay. They can actually see that. In the peer list there will be an icon highlighting which devices are connected through a relay. You can get info on that on help.getsync.com
  16. Well that can be difficult depending on what system you are adding the link to. On OS X it is different than on Windows and also there is Linux and the mobile clients that are sandboxed. I get that.. maybe BitTorrent Sync IT is something for you. Take a look here http://try.getsync.com/sync-for-it/
  17. You already created a thread regarding that issue. http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/42005-synology-dsm-60-beta-2/?fromsearch=1 Please let's continue there and don't make more threads.
  18. When you buy a pro license you can add that license up to 10 individual identities.
  19. I am already in contact with the folks at BitTorrent Sync about that issue. When I know more I will let you know - or they will depending Please be patient and don't use the package currently provided. Just delete it for now.
  20. With the release of 2.3 you can install BitTorrent Sync as a Windows Service. Although, when BitTorrent Sync is installed and running as a Windows Service there's no system tray icon. The UI is instead accessed via your web browser (i.e. 127.0.0.1:8888)
  21. Do you have any kind of ad blocker software in your browser?if yes disable them and try again.
  22. Let me just say this: you can buy a license and apply it on up to 10 individual identities/installations which can have an almost unlimited amount of linked devices in My Devices. You should be able to figure it out from there I guess
  23. So in general you are right with your assumption. If your friends want to use selective sync to selectively download files on their machines they would need to have pro themselves. It won't be of much use for you on the server (other than the perks of removing people from a share etc so it would be useful anyhow) There is one way you could achieve it but I don't know if it is against EULA
  24. You can get all license information here http://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/204754419-Sync-FREE-vs-Sync-PRO hope this helps
