  1. If you move around in the Syncthing forum, you often notice that Resilio users, even with licenses, want to turn away from Resilio because the support has decreased a lot and the update cycles are clearly too long. Nobody can conclusively understand what is going on at Resilio. Corona or no Corona, it can't be because of that. The Syncthing staff is active as always. I have read again and again from Resilio that staff capacities are limited and that priorities are set accordingly. Of course are such things okay and clear. It is not understandable, however, that nothing seems to stir. This is becoming more and more of a problem, as operating systems and framework conditions are constantly changing. If users can help other users, that's still possible. If not, Resilio staff should help and find solutions. All activities are not only drivers of innovation that improve the software, but also links to the users and hold them in the community. You can clearly see this in the Syncthing Forum. There are more and more participants there, Syncthing is becoming more popular and the software has reached a level of maturity that has long been able to compete with that of Resilio. I even think that the features that both tools have in common are more detailed in terms of user-friendliness and documentation. There are of course features that Resilio has ahead, the most important are e.g. selective sync, local sync, time and week planning, peer-related key exchange and possibly more. The latter in particular makes Resilio more flexible in a community. Because there the main difference of this P2P software becomes clear. Syncthing is a device-related tool and Resilio is peer-related. With Syncthing, the device must always be available first in order to set up a peer, with Resilio you only need the key for the peer and a directory can be set up more easily. Well, there are ways to recreate some of these features with Syncthing, even if it's not that easy. E.g. local copies can be set up with several instances, selective sync via ignore lists. All of this is not that comfortable, but it is feasible. It's a shame, Resilio should take better care of its users. In the past they have done. The software is basically still top, with potencial for optimations, and that's why I bought a license. But that doesn't prevent me from checking out other "daughters". In any case, my focus has also shifted, although this does not always have to do with Resilio directly.
  2. That is true. I use Resilio and Syncthing both. What ist the relation to this thread "Worst support ever"?
  3. Is not the official date, today on Google Play is 8/2/2021 regarding v2.6.4, is also wrong. It seems any automatic tool to lift the date it seems to be more current. Such tricky things are not okay. If you look in the forum, some people, also me, fighting to have a better response from Resilio, but is difficult. I dont know, if a issue of Corona or such like that. More and more people are in the Syncthing forum, coming from here, thats not a good trend.
  4. There is surely nothing done, since "Current Version" 2.6.4 is from 12/2019, it means approx. 14 month old. I also had this problem and was finally able to solve it by rebuilding Resilio on all devices in terms of profile and database. The profile also because I have a Pro license and duplicated devices were there from unsuccessful attempts, etc. I think things like this also lead to malfunctions. Then it started again.
  5. I don't think that's entirely appropriate. Resilio is very good software. Unfortunately, there are no fresh updates and the problem is that not all bugs can be eliminated. The update cycles should be significantly shorter. Monthly, quarterly, but not yearly or longer. The last update is from July 2020 (!). In addition, as the operating systems progress, there are new points that need to be worked on. With the development of hardware, new platforms arise, some of which are also introduced. In any case, the frustration is increasing and many are now switching to Syncthing, I see that in the forum there. I think that's a shame.
  6. Nobody knows what is going on at Resilio. A lot of threads telling about that this forum is feeling death from Resilio side, e.g. https://forum.resilio.com/topic/71842-resilio-mainly-now-soon-syncthing/?tab=comments#comment-156232 Now it seems, also the support is not working smoothly. Sometimes from Resilio side is heared that the capacities for all are bordered.
  7. Maybe it helps to clean the ACL in the system. I use for owner and group "root" and 0777 for the permissions and reload the OS ACLs after this action. So I make on my Synology servers.
  8. Usually such things are a ACL problem. Maybe it helps to clean the ACL´s in your system. Which system and OS you are using?
  9. In all the cases it seems best to contact support directly. In my opinion from Resilio staff side the forum is died.
  10. As a rule, there is a note in the status column of the affected peer in the GUI. Otherwise, the log may also provide information.
  11. Then it is time to realize that having a busy forum that will secure the future too. Because today's young users are tomorrow's administrators. Microsoft has shown how to do it. Good software is passed on and recommended. And a forum is clearly a very good platform for that. In addition, feedback is given on a broad basis, which is taken into account in the development of the software, which makes it better and better. Well, if users can help other users, that's okay. However, if special help is required or even a bug occurs, and there are several of them, then the forum is no longer worth anything. So all that remains is to write to support. However, this is more time-consuming for Resilio, since each user has to be dealt with separately in the same case. On the other hand, if I can use a search function in a forum and find a solution, that is an added value.
  12. Maybe is a bug. I think you test that during your set up and have logs and so one. For me it seems is the best to contact support directly, since in the forum seems no staff of Resilio is present.
  13. It would be good to have some defined tests to see if the result is as expected.
  14. As a supporter of Resilio, I would like to turn to you for a better understanding. I've already heard that you must all use your time efficiently. Nevertheless, I would like to understand why nobody or hardly anyone from the staff apparently works in the forum. It is clear that there is also considerable potential in this to advance the Synctool. This would also include fixed update cycles, it doesn't have to be the big technical leaps from update to update. Etc., etc. Further, If there are problems, the users want solutions and if the impression arises that they are saying it here and it goes unheard (yes, from you Resilio staff), because maybe the users and forum participants also have no solution, they turn away in frustration. This is what I experience when users, even those with licenses, complain about it in other forums. Should that be so? It's also about users turning away and using other tools even though a license is in place. The users want a lively community, they want to feel where you stand, they want to join in and ultimately help. Well, what's your opinion on that?
  15. I've already done this with Syncthing and recently with Resilio. First create a group and a user in the DSM that only affect this Docker installation. Connect the user to the group and give the group the related permissions in the folders, you want to include below. Go to the /etc/group /etc/passwd and read out the PUID and PGID for this, each with a 4 or 5-digit number after the assigned name. Then download the latest image from resilio / sync: latest and start the image. For the parameters deposit as follows: Section Environment entrance PUID <-> xxxx and PGID <-> yyyyy Section Ports fix no. 8888 also outside, maybe also 8888 or other. Section Volumes as follow: DS-folder: homes/name_of_user (PUID) <-> mount-path: /mnt/sync/ and for the filesystem include all relevant folders as follow: DS-filesystem-folder: folder-1 <-> mount-path: /mnt/mounted_folders/folder-1/ DS-filesystem-folder: folder-2 <-> mount-path: /mnt/mounted_folders/folder-2/ DS-filesystem-folder: folder-3 <-> mount-path: /mnt/mounted_folders/folder-3/ DS-filesystem-folder: folder-4 <-> mount-path: /mnt/mounted_folders/folder-4/ DS-filesystem-folder: folder-5 <-> mount-path: /mnt/mounted_folders/folder-5/ . . . . . DS-filesystem-folder: folder-n <-> mount-path: /mnt/mounted_folders/folder-n/ Thats it. Start and try .... 👍
  16. Using Resilio for Docker with the current filesystem environment is not a problem. The issue is if Docker is supported of the related Synology and the performance is not so good as in a native installation. So, I hope the same.
  17. Further, the Android APP of the above link I can´t install it and at Google the latest version is v2.6.4 from 18.8.2020 (?)
  18. It's once more like death in the forum from Resilio side. Problems that are set here can only be partially answered. Nobody knows whether Resilio is working on it. And the last update to v2.7.2 was in July 2020. That doesn't make a good impression. There has been no feedback whatsoever with regard to DSM 7. DSM 7 means a major cut in the rights system and various other directories. If Resilio misses this change, it will be very bad for users with Synology Server. Synology is very popular and more and more Resilio users are joining Syncthing, I get that in the forum there. We will see.
  19. Update to v2.7.2 is Posted July 21, 2020. Whats about coming updates and maybe regular updatecycles?
  20. I dont know If it make a difference, since I use since years as service. Maybe that help.
