  1. Not presently, a possible "work around" though would be to harshly limit the download rates of your other devices (apart from the home server) so that your home server (which isn't limited) should receive completed files before any other device. This is already how Sync works Probably something more for the Feature Requests forum, rather than the General Discussion forum
  2. Yes - set upload/download speed limits on the Preferences tab so that Sync uses less bandwidth
  3. Yep, I guess Sky's filter's are a little too "broad", and rather than just banning access to certain torrent sites like the pirate bay, etc (which all UK ISPs are now required to do by law), they're also incorrectly banning anything P2P related! FYI, I can access the User Manual via the link in your original post via both Virgin Media and EE, so it looks like this is a Sky-specific "block". Sky do have a report miscategorized site page on their site, so it may be worth reporting this to them!
  4. The link is working correctly for me - are you trying to access via a corporate network, or do you (or your ISP) employ any filtering software which may be blocking your access to this resource? Some other users have reported similar issues in the past over in this thread and this thread. In these previous instances, users that encountered this issue accessing BitTorrent Sync resources on Amazon Cloud were either accessing from the Ukraine, or from the UK and their ISP was Sky Broadband. What country are you in, and who is your ISP?
  5. It does if you've run out of free disk space and/or memory!
  6. Please see "Is there a limit on the number/size of files I can Sync?" in the Unofficial FAQ
  7. You should consider contributing to this thread in the Feature Requests forum - whilst you say this thread is not "Mac specific", it's also not any any other particular OS-specific, as there is general interest in a "scheduler" for Sync regardless of the operating system. So adding your voice to that thread would be the way to go!
  8. Sounds like you'd want BitTorrent Chat to be combined with/incorporated into BitTorrent Sync?
  9. Assuming you're referring to the desktop apps, then no! You may like to add your voice to the "selective sync" thread over in the Feature Request forum to request such functionality, however, in the meantime the "workaround" if you only wish to share a single file and don't want to use .SyncIgnore, would be to place said file within its own folder, and then sync that folder.
  10. @PackeMan, your thread has now been moved to said Feature Request forum!
  11. @stalk, the suggestion/desirability for Sync to "compress" traffic is being discussed over in this thread in the Feature Requests forum. You may like to consider adding your voice to that thread instead, as such functionality isn't present in 1.3.105, and so is off-topic to the main discussion of this thread.
  12. On Windows devices, Sync stores its data in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent Sync (or if your office network uses remote profiles your "AppData" folder may actually be stored on a network/file server, rather than on the local machine) In either case, it sounds like your IT/Network administrator has enforced policy restrictions to make you user profile "read only" or to reset it (discard changes) upon each login. In which case, there's not much you can do, short of speaking to your IT/Network admins, because at present it's not possible to change the default location where Sync saves its settings to something other than your AppData folder.
  13. Sync is currently only capable of using one network interface at any one time - normally, this is whichever one it sees as "active" first - and it's not currently possible to define/set which network adapter Sync should use. For example, if you have a device with both wired and wireless network adapters, and you unplug the wired before starting Sync, Sync will use the wireless network adapter as it's the only one available (even if you then subsequently plug back in the wired)
  14. You can turn off notifications via Preferences -> Untick "Show Notifications"
  15. How much free memory does your server have? 4.6 million files would require nearly 2GB of free memory in order for Sync to process (memory usage typically increases by around 300-400 bytes per file being monitored by Sync) You may be far better suited with a disc "cloning" tool if all you're doing is a one time "move"/migration of files to a new server, rather than actually wanting to keep 4.6 million files in real-time sync between devices!
  16. Sounds like there's a similar suggestion over in the Feature Requests forum - perhaps consider adding your voice/vote for such functionality there?
  17. Check your .SyncArchive folders. btw, 1.3.67 is a very old version of Sync - the latest build is 1.3.105 - please consider updating, as numerous issues/bugs have been addressed since 1.3.67
  18. If Sync is "stuck", try exiting Sync, deleting any .!sync files on your device, and then restarting Sync - in many cases, this resolves the issue of stuck/incomplete .sync files!
  19. Lighting, I've had the same - I suspect (although I'm sure the support team will confirm?) that they've been clearing up the system and "closing" a lot of old & now obsolete tickets! Yesterday, I received a number of emails stating the following (each one relating to individual, and very old tickets) Dear user, This request is automatically closed by a script due to inactivity. If you have a problem with BitTorrent Sync, please, open a new ticket and describe the problem in details. Thank you. Best regards, Sync Support Team. Today, 24 hours later, I've received follow up "How would you rate the support you received?" emails corresponding to each "closed" ticket. As I say, I suspect the team are just clearing up & bulk closing really old tickets, but yeah, it confused me for a while too receiving emails about tickets that were several months old!
  20. Actually, bug reporting is encouraged through the dedicated Zendesk ticketing system - please see "If you have a SyncApp issue" (and in the case of the mobile apps, you can report bugs directly through the built in "Send Feedback" option too!) It's quite common for a software product's "changelog" to be posted to their forums - in our forums, the most recent Sync changelog is always "pinned" to the top of the General Discussion forum, so you don't have to "read dozens of threads just to discover which is the latest version" Given that Sync itself is developed in-house and isn't open source, there would be little point in using collaborative code repository sites like github, bitbucket, etc (there are some unofficial open-source projects related to Sync developed by members of the community that do use github, including Packaging of BitTorrent Sync for Debianoid operating systems and Bittorrent Sync indicator for linux desktops) Also, please do bear in mind that Sync is presently in "beta". During this phase of development, the team feel that having everything together in a central place - like the forums - is both a good way for users to interact with each other (for example, through the suggestion and discussion of new features/ideas in the dedicated Sync Wishlist forum, etc) but also for the team to interact with you guys too! (by providing updates, changelogs, and responding to questions, etc). More ways to interact may be introduced in the future once Sync leave beta, but for the time being, the forums and the email ticketing system are your best options for interacting with the team and for us to provide you with help/solutions/updates, etc
  21. Whilst Sync remains in beta, not every new build is pushed out via auto-update. The latest version via auto-update is presently 1.3.94, however, the latest beta build available is 1.3.105, so in order to update, you'll need to manually download/install 1.3.105 from here.
  22. That's the manual for the BitTorrent Client, NOT for BitTorrent Sync - they are two separate products! Please see my post earlier in this thread - Sync isn't supported on Win 2K
