  1. DiversityBittorent, I can thinks of two simple possible reasons: 1) wrong directory. Which exactly directory you backup and where exactly Camera stored the shot photos? By default Sync backups DCIM from internal phone's memory, unless you pick "custom" location. If Camera is set to store files on sd card - then this new file will not be uploaded. 2) no notification from the system about new photo. Try restarting Sync on the phone, if you haven't already.
  2. Sync keeps current settings in Users/username/Library/Application Support/ BitTorrent Sync folder <- this is where Sync's name, identity, folders' database and other settings are stored. There are some plist's in Users/username/Library/Properties, but they are not related to "don't have to choose a name anymore".
  3. it's because of Free version. Sync Help Center also says: Note that you can link your devices in both Free and Pro version of Sync. However, automatic synchronization will only be activated if you upgrade to Pro. in article about identity. So in Free version only manual sharing (via copying/emailing the link or QR code) is possible.
  4. Disabling "Sync all" is not available on Linux OS due to poor possibility to integrate with file system. Other peculiarities of Linux are here
  5. unfortunately, not. Sync doesn't work with files in that way. You can 'open in' this file in another app and rename it there. Send it back to Sync. But in this case you will end up with two files, because in iOS files are copied between apps, so these will be two different files - with old name and new name. Old named file shall be deleted from desktop manually.
  6. This may happen if: 1) there are no folders in Sync at all. 2) there are no RW folders in Sync, only RO. Do you have RW folders in Sync?
  7. fnordsensei, shall be fixed in 2.0.120. Do you use it? pirloui, available only on Yosemite.
  8. For that issue try a workaround - edit the hosts file, add the following lines there: 127.0.0.1 www.usyncapp.com 127.0.0.1 download.usyncapp.com If you ever want to bring "check for updates" back, make sure you remove these lines. For Windows hosts file is in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts Mac: /private/etc/hosts
  9. @all, it looks like you are trying to link the mobile's identity to desktop's folder. This cannot be done. Identity shall the linked to identity, folder - to folder. Here you paste the link to the "key" field. Sync expects Key there, not link. Here you try to use the key to laptops *identity* when adding the *folder* on the mobile. Please, see this article about it all. You need to link two identities, or two folders, not mix them up. Pro users are welcomed to support tickets to get Pro support. Forum is community's help.
  10. These are Synology's folders to store thumbnails. In Google here are plenty of tips and ways to remove them. You may pick any that is OK for you. When it comes to Sync, you may add them to IgnoreList on both peers to prevent them from syncing. Tips on using IgnoreList are here
  11. joconnell, We've created a support ticket for you, please follow it.
  12. already. See the list of changes announced here
  13. piowoc, actually there is a number of causes and ideas about it, better discuss in in support ticket. I've created one for you.
  14. jfreiman, we have replied in Zendesk to you. Mess096, Which exactly QR code are you scanning and with what scanner? I suppose you are doing either of the following: on PC click on folder - > Share and get QR code, and then on the phone pick "Link to other devices" and scan that QR code? In this case you are trying to link phone's identity to PC's folder. Or: on phone you click "add folder" and on PC -> My devices -> Link device and scan that QR code? In this case you are trying to link phone's folder to PC's identity. These cannot be done. Identity should be linked to identity, and folder - to folder. Otherwise you'll be getting that "invalid QR code" warning. It's similar to the issue described in this article Also, can you please share the screenshot showing that tray icon and Sync showing different versions? Do you have one Sync instance running? Please check it in Task manager.
  15. BitDuck, In your settings, the 'check for updates' is still marked as enabled. Is changing other settings (for example, listening port, or launch on startup, etc) honored properly? We need to brainstorms this issue, as there seems to be no particular steps to reproduce it, it's not reproducible in our labs. deleting settings.dat and settings.dat.old does not remove the folders from Sync, that is why I didn't warn you. Settings.dat do not have information about your folders. Settings keep only *settings* - smth you see in Preferences and advanced preferences. Make sure that you didn't delete sync.dat and sync.dat old, since it's them who keeps information about your folders, and deleting them deletes the folders from Sync.
  16. Good news, everyone. We finally got good debug information from ppl and fixed it. But sorry, no ETA on when it'll be released yet.
  17. BitDuck, the problem is that disabling 'check for updates' in not saved to settings.dat. Sync saves it on every quit. Can you confirm that Sync is shut down correctly and there is no BitTorrent Sync process still running after that? Make sure that 'check for updates' is still disabled, and send the settings.dat and settings.dat.old from %appdata% \ BitTorrent Sync folder to us via this form after that try deleting them (when Sync is off). When you start Sync, this option will be enabled (by default). disable it and see if the problem remains.
  18. sparkitny, We have two tickets from you in support system and all are replied in time. For this problem, we've created another ticket for you. Let's proceed there.
  19. jfreiman, we told that the logs were not debug, and thus contained little information. but in the ticket additional debug files were asked and additional information was requested to continue the investigation, we didn't say we give up. Please, let's proceed in ticket (23822).
  20. Thrax Moraeulf, Sync 2.0.105 on NAS runs under 'admin', fyi, so if you encounter "no permissions' issue, check the access for admin. But I suppose you were talking about "this folder is owned by another sync instance" pop-up? It means that in the folder you try to add .sync is still present, and I assume this remains after Sync 1.4 by SynoComminuty, owned by "btsync" user, as chicagonyc correctly noted. So to get rid of that warning, just delete .sync from the folder.
  21. jfreiman, we have a support ticket with you on this matter and will be happy to continue debugging there.
  22. @all, do you mean that you see 404 error on browser console for template.js? This is not what is causing the problem with UI. This is just an old link to template.js remaining in the code that leads to no-longer-used template.js . A new way to compile templates is used now, but the link to old one is not yet removed. So any details on how, from where you launch Sync, how you are accessing webui, what exactly problem you face - how exactly ui looks like would be much appreciated. @nto try deleting settings.dat and settings.dat.old from storage @pabloxtiyo yes, you may run sync with --nodaemon argument, or disable webui in config
  23. Sync has no permissions to write to SD card apart from that one allowed folder, mentioned by yahavrave Details about Lollipop and Sync are in this thread
  24. We've created a support ticket with you. let's proceed there.
  25. Chris V, Classic folders in Sync 2.0 are not shared via ACL (access control list), so checking access level from other peers will not show anything. Better try to note the steps that lead to the problem, as we cannot reproduce it in our labs. Also, keep logging enabled and send the logs to us. oh, wait, one thing to check - open this folder preferences and see if it has both RW and RO key, you may use them to share the folder. It more looks like a UI bug, not core's.
